Story By: TIM BALTZ / CAN-AM SPEEDWAY – LA FARGEVILLE, NY – The 52nd season of racing is on the horizon at the Can Am Speedway in La Fargeville, New York and the anticipation is building for the new year already, following a major announcement at this past weekend’s awards banquet for the 2025 racing season.

Following the awards ceremony at the Harbor Hotel in Clayton New York on Saturday February 28th, promoter Tyler Bartlett gave some closing remarks about the upcoming season and what drivers, teams and fans could expect to see. The major news was an increase in payout for the Whitesboro Plow Shop DIRTCar 358 Modifieds, Bob Johnson Auto Group DIRTCar Sportsman and the Panther Frameworx Crate Sprint Cars.

Bartlett announced that the 358 Modifieds will now be $2000 to win during weekly competition, while the Sportsman will pay $1000 to the feature winner. In the Crate Sprint Cars, the feature winner will receive $750 weekly.

Talks with sponsors are in the works to raise the purse for the Sundance Leisure Thundercars and promoters Tyler and Michelle Bartlett hope to have an announcement about that in the next few weeks.

The new season begins with the Thunder on the 1000 Islands weekend. Friday April 10th will see the opener for the DIRTCar 358 Modified Series plus a regular event for the Bob Johnson Auto Group DIRTCar Sportsman, Panther Frameworx Crate Sprints and a practice session for the Super DIRTCar Series.

Saturday April 11th will be the first race in New York State for the Super DIRTCar Series plus the opening leg of the Central Region for the DIRTCar Sportsman Series and the Ron White Memorial for the Sundance Leisure Thundercars, which is also expecting a huge field for one of the crown jewel events for the division.

Increase in weekly payouts and a big weekend to start the year is just some of what is expected for the 2026 season. All that and more about our season schedule can be found on our website at racecanam.com, our track Facebook page and on My Race Pass.
