Big Season On Tap for Action Track USA; Opener Set for Sunday, May 3
COLUMN BY: Barry Angstadt / ACTION TRACK USA – KUTZTOWN, PA – Kutztown’s Action Track USA is set to begin another blockbuster season this Sunday, May 3…its 14th year under the management team of Rich Tobias and Doug Rose.
Extremely popular special events such as another visit by the USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car Championship on June 21; a pair of races for the USAC East Coast Sprint Cars on July 8 and August 16, and not one, but TWO events for the Short Track Super Series Modifieds (May 26 and August 5), along with a Super Late Model Appalachian Speedweek date on June 10 are just some of the 2026 schedule’s highlights.
The new campaign kicks off this Sunday, May 3, with the speedway’s four point-earning classes: the River Valley Builders SpeedSTRs, the Hyper Racing non-wing 600 Sprints, plus the All Star and Junior Slingshots. Pit gates open at 4 p.m., with grandstand gates opening one hour later. Warm-ups begin at 6:00 with opening ceremonies and qualifying heats getting underway a short time after the hot lap sessions.
Billy Pauch Jr. captured the River Valley SpeedSTR point title in 2025, his fifth Action Track USA championship in that class. Tim Buckwalter earned his third point crown in the Hyper Racing 600 Sprints, while Brett Bieber collected his fifth All Star Slingshots track championship. Hannah Kormann was last season’s Junior Slingshot point champion. Pauch, Buckwalter, and Bieber return this year to defend their titles while Kormann moves up to the All Star Slingshot division.
There will also be a matinee program featuring the winged 270 Micro Sprints and Xcel Modifieds beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. Pits and grandstand gates will open at noon, and there is no cost for spectators.
Pit passes are $30. Ticket prices for the evening show are $18 for Adults; $16 for Seniors; youth between the ages of 6-12 are just $5; and children five and under are free.
For those who cannot attend, the events are streamed live on DirtTrackDigest.tv.

The second event on the ‘26 calendar is slated for Wednesday, May 13 when the four weekly divisions will compete in the annul Goldie & Elton Meitzler Memorial, with warm-ups at 6:15.
