COLUMN BY: Kurt Bettler – USAC EAST COAST MEDIA –  BEDFORD, PA  – The competitors are set for a massive USAC East Coast doubleheader, kicking off Friday, April 24 at the legendary Bedford Speedway. With nearly 90 years of history, Bedford remains one of Pennsylvania’s most respected battlegrounds and a staple on the schedule.

Friday night’s event is backed by Malley Pool Water, a trusted name out of Montgomery, New York. For more than 20 years, Malley Trucking Inc. has delivered clean, reliable water to homeowners, commercial pool installers, and municipalities—helping customers get their pools ready quickly and efficiently for the summer season.

Bedford Schedule & Info:

Gates open at 5:00 PM, with racing set to begin at 7:30 PM. General admission is $18.

After Mother Nature wiped out the 2025 event, anticipation for the return to Bedford is even higher.

The action continues Saturday, April 25 at the “Speed Palace,” Port Royal Speedway—one of the most iconic stops in sprint car racing. The wingless sprints take center stage with Can-Am Power Sports adding bonus money to the program.

Can-Am, a brand of Bombardier Recreational Products, is known worldwide for high-performance ATVs, side-by-sides, and three-wheeled machines. Built on cutting-edge engineering and powered by industry-leading Rotax engines, Can-Am machines are designed for speed, durability, and performance in the toughest conditions. Both Malley Pool Water and Can-Am Power Sports are also contributing start money for all qualified cars, adding even more incentive for teams to make the show.

Port Royal Schedule & Info:
Pits open at 3:00 PM, grandstands at 4:00 PM, and racing begins at 6:00 PM.

General admission is $30, pit admission is $40, and all competitors are required to run mufflers.

Last weekend at Bridgeport Motorsports Park delivered a high-intensity, slide-job-filled program. Briggs Danner picked up the win, but the depth of the field was impossible to ignore. Olivia Thayer stormed from the back to 13th, earning hard charger honors. Steven Drevicki charged late to third, while Kenny Miller III led much of the race before getting caught late. Christian Bruno impressed in his debut with a top-five run, and Bruce Buckwalter showed serious speed with a heat win and top-10 finish. Brendan Hires turned in a career-best fourth, battling up front with Danner for much of the night.

Looking to rebound, Ed Aikin returns after early trouble, while Ronald Helmick aims for a cleaner night after mechanical issues cut his debut short. Kyle Spence and Joe Kata also look to build on solid opening runs.
Two nights, two historic tracks, added start money, and a loaded field—it’s shaping up to be a pivotal early-season weekend for the USAC East Coast Sprint Cars presented by Baer Den Farms.
