COLUMN BY: Robert Kenney Jr. / BREWERTON SPEEDWAY – CENTRAL SQUARE, NY  – Round two of the 2026 season at Brewerton Speedway brought fans a full night of excitement, close finishes, and dramatic moments as VP Racing Fuels presented racing action for the Tracey Road DIRTcar Big Block Modifieds, Dot Foods DIRTcar Sportsman, AmeriCU Mod Lite STARS, Mirabito 4-Cylinders, and E&V Energy Novice Sportsman.

The night opened with the AmeriCU Mod Lite STARS putting on an entertaining feature event. Zack Babcock tracked down race leader Thomas Mackey in the closing laps and made the winning move with just a couple laps remaining to score the feature victory.

In the Tracey Road DIRTcar Big Block Modified feature, Chris Hile picked up the win after holding off a late-race charge from opening night winner Darren Smith. The two battled along the topside all around the track as laps counted down. The Modified feature was far from smooth, however, as the race was slowed by a major red flag incident on the front stretch. The crash occurred on lap 2 as the field was coming back to green following a caution period and involved several cars in a chaotic pileup that collected nearly half the field.

The Dot Foods DIRTcar Sportsman division saw Hunter Hollenbeck continue his early season momentum by going back-to-back with another feature victory after also winning on opening night. Jack Meeks looked well on his way to victory when with 2 to go, something on his car broke leading to a caution.

A milestone moment came in the Mirabito 4-Cylinder Superstock feature where Walt VanEpps captured his first career feature win! Nate Powers came on late but couldn’t get close enough to make a pass.

Rounding out the evening, Matt Yorker drove to victory in the E&V Energy Novice Sportsman feature.

Next up is the A-Verdi Storage Containers presents Empire Super Sprints Don Gillette Memorial plus Mod/Spts/ML

A-Verdi Storage Containers presents the Winged Warriors of the ESS Sprints making their first of three 2026 visits to the D-Shaped DIRT Demon. Tracey Road DIRTcar Modifieds, Dot Foods DIRTcar Sportsman and AmeriCU Mod Lites will also be in action. (4-Cylinders off)
