Chrisman Outduels Fink, Galvin Wins Late-Race Battle on Crazy Chain Race Night

COLUMN BY: Robert Kenney Jr. / FULTON SPEEDWAY – FULTON, NY  – Rocket Tow presented the 4th Annual Crazy Chain Race Saturday night at Fulton Speedway featuring the Tracey Road DIRTcar Modifieds, Dot Foods DIRTcar Sportsman, Billy Whittaker Cars & Trux Stock Cars and E & V Energy Novice Sportsman.

The E & V Energy Novice Sportsman kicked off the evening’s feature racing action. Pole-sitter Jaden Bennett paced the field in the early going of the novice race. However, Scott Teachout steadily worked his way forward from the fourth starting position and eventually tracked down Bennett for the lead. Once out front, Teachout drove away to score the feature win while Bennett finished a strong second.

The Tracey Road DIRTcar Modifieds provided one of the night’s most exciting battles. Brandon Carvey led the opening five laps after starting from the pole before outside front-row starter Alan Fink took command. Fink appeared headed for victory as he controlled the race through the midway stages, but Wade Chrisman closed the gap in lap traffic and began pressuring the leader around lap 25.

The two drivers raced side-by-side and exchanged the lead multiple times during a thrilling battle for the top spot. Chrisman finally secured the lead for good with roughly 10 laps remaining and drove on to collect the victory. Amy (Holland) Buff put together an impressive charge from the 13th starting position, making a late-race pass on Fink to claim second at the checkered flag, with Fink settling for third.

The Dot Foods DIRTcar Sportsman feature saw David Hackett jump out to the early lead and set the pace through the opening laps. Josh Livingston worked his way to within striking distance from the fifth starting spot. He eventually reeled in the leader and made the winning pass. Once in front, Livingston maintained control to score the Sportsman feature victory.

The Billy Whittaker Cars & Trux Stock Cars closed out the regular division features with a dramatic finish. Ed Stevens led much of the event while Aidan Galvin chased him down in the closing laps. The battle reached its peak with just a few laps remaining as Galvin rolled the outside lane before diving to the bottom exiting turn two. The pair raced door-to-door down the backstretch, trading paint as they battled for the lead. Galvin’s preferred inside line entering turn three allowed him to complete the pass and take over the top spot. He then pulled away over the final laps to secure the victory.

The night concluded with the always entertaining 4th Annual Crazy Chain Race, bringing an exciting end to another action-packed evening of racing at Fulton Speedway.
