Pennsylvania Speedweek Set to Make 1st Port Royal Stop on Wednesday July 1st

COLUMN BY: Brad Strawser / PORT ROYAL SPEEDWAY – PORT ROYAL, PA  – The 36th Annual Pennsylvania Speedweek makes its 1st stop to Port Royal Speedway on Wednesday, July 1, as sprint car mini-series rolls into “The Speed Palace” for one of the most anticipated races of the summer.

Sponsored by Fleet Reps, the event will feature Weikert’s Livestock 410 Sprint Cars as they continue their pursuit of the Pennsylvania Speedweek title, joined by the United Racing Club 360 Sprint Cars for a full night of open-wheel racing action.

Pennsylvania Speedweek has long been considered one of the crown jewel stretches of the season for sprint car competitors, drawing top drivers from across the country to battle Pennsylvania’s toughest weekly competitors over a demanding schedule of races.

With 3 events completed through Sunday, Chase Dietz has recorded 2 wins and Anthony Macri the other. Macri leads the series points standings by just 32 points entering Monday with two more stops to come before the series makes its first appearance at Port Royal Speedway.

Fans attending Wednesday’s event will also be treated to competition from the United Racing Club (URC) 360 Sprint Cars, adding another exciting division of winged sprint car action to the program.

General admission is $30, student admission (ages 13-17) is $20, and children ages 12 and under are admitted free. Pit admission is $40.

Event times for Wednesday, July 1 are as follows:

• Pits Open – 4:00 PM
• Gates Open – 4:00 PM
• Hot Laps – 6:00 PM
• Racing Begins – 7:00 PM

Fans are encouraged to arrive early and be part of one of the biggest midweek racing events of the season as Pennsylvania Speedweek returns to Port Royal Speedway for an exciting night of sprint car competition.
