Rahmer charges to 2nd Lincoln win of 2026 after Forsythe’s Heartbreak
COLUMN BY: LINCOLN SPEEDWAY – ABBOTTSTOWN, PA – Freddie Rahmer capitalized on the misfortune of early race leader Glenndon Forsythe and then held off a late challenge from Tyler Ross to score his second Lincoln Speedway victory of the 2026 season in Saturday night’s 30-lap feature event.
Forsythe and Chris Arnold brought the field to green with Forsythe taking command entering turn one. An early spin by David Grube in turn three set the field up for a complete restart, but Forsythe again surged to the lead when racing resumed.
While Forsythe established a comfortable advantage, Jordan Givler settled into second as the battle behind him intensified. Kyle Moody worked his way forward into third while Freddie Rahmer, the only previous 2026 feature winner in the field, methodically advanced from his ninth starting position.
By lap 10, Rahmer had cracked the top five and quickly continued his march toward the front, moving into fourth and then challenging Moody for third. Up front, Forsythe appeared poised for his first victory of the season, building a lead of more than three seconds before encountering lapped traffic.
The complexion of the race changed dramatically on lap 15 when Forsythe slowed while leading, bringing out the caution flag and ending his dominant run. Givler inherited the lead for the restart, followed by Rahmer, Moody, Arnold and JJ Loss.
Rahmer wasted little time taking advantage of the opportunity. On the restart, he powered to the inside of Givler and emerged with the lead exiting turn four. Behind him, Moody moved into second while Tyler Ross charged into contention, eventually taking over third before setting his sights on the leaders.
As Rahmer navigated lapped traffic in the closing laps, Moody briefly cut the advantage to less than a second. Ross then mounted a strong challenge for the runner-up position, slipping past Moody in the final laps to secure second.
Despite the pressure, Rahmer remained in control over the final circuits to claim the victory. Ross finished second, followed by Moody, Norris and Loss to complete the top five.
The win marked Rahmer’s second Lincoln Speedway triumph of the season after starting ninth and charging through the field.
SATTERLEE TAKES CONTROL IN APPALACHIAN MOUNTAIN SPEEDWEEK FINALE AT LINCOLN
The Super Late Model Appalachian Mountain Speedweek finale at Lincoln Speedway featured several lead changes, intense battles throughout the top five before the race settled into a showdown in the final laps of the 35-lap main event.
Trevor Feathers grabbed the early advantage entering turn one while Chad Homan settled into second. Tyler Emory ran third with Gary Stuhler fourth as Trevor Collins held off Gregg Satterlee for fifth.
Satterlee quickly began his march toward the front, making an aggressive move to take over fourth before the race’s first caution flew on lap three when Gene Knaub slowed on the speedway.
On the restart, Feathers maintained the lead ahead of Homan and Satterlee, but Homan found momentum on the outside groove and surged into the top spot exiting turn four. Behind the leaders, Satterlee continued to pressure Feathers and eventually secured second place while Stuhler and Emory waged a spirited battle for fourth.
Another caution on lap seven for Mike Lupfer slowed the action, but the restart set up one of the race’s defining moments. Homan and Satterlee engaged in a thrilling side-by-side battle for the lead, with Satterlee edging ahead by just .059 seconds at the start-finish line before extending the margin to .197 seconds on the following lap to officially take command.
As the race reached the halfway point, Stuhler advanced to third while USAC standout Briggs Danner worked his way into the top five. A caution on lap 11 for Jamie Lathroum and another on lap 14 for Mitch Thomas repeatedly reset the field, but Satterlee continued to fend off challenges from Homan.
Following the lap-14 restart, Feathers mounted a charge back to second while Rick Eckert entered the top five and eventually climbed to fourth. Homan later reclaimed second as Stuhler and Eckert exchanged positions in a fierce battle just behind the leaders.
A caution involving Shaun Jones on lap 21 brought the field back together, but Satterlee once again executed a flawless restart. Eckert moved into third while Justin Weaver cracked the top five.
A pivotal moment occurred on lap 24 when Feathers slowed while running among the leaders, bringing out another caution and ending his bid for victory. The restart lineup featured Satterlee leading Homan, Eckert, Stuhler and Weaver.
In the closing stages, Stuhler applied pressure to Eckert for third while Satterlee and Homan began to distance themselves from the rest of the field, setting up a dramatic finish to the Appalachian Mountain Speedweek finale at Lincoln Speedway.
Lincoln Speedway is back in action on Saturday, June 20 with the Kramer Klash presented by Commonwealth Trailer Parts featuring the 410 Sprints and 358 Sprints. Racing is scheduled for 7PM with pit gates opening at 4:30PM and grandstand gates opening at 5PM.
