COLUMN BY: Brad Strawser / PORT ROYAL SPEEDWAY – PORT ROYAL, PA  – Christmas is coming early to The Speed Palace this Saturday as Port Royal Speedway hosts PRS Ministries Christmas in July Night, featuring tripleheader action of sprint car racing with the Weikert’s Livestock 410 Sprint Cars, Penns Valley Meat Market PASS 305 Sprint Cars, and 358 Sprint Cars.

The evening will combine three divisions of sprint car racing with plenty of holiday spirit, as Port Royal Speedway Ministries brings Christmas in July festivities and giveaways for fans of all ages.

The Weikert’s Livestock 410 Sprint Cars will headline the racing program as drivers compete for $5,000 to win as a part of the weekly $25,000 purse. 5-time track champion, Logan Wagner, has overtaken the points lead in the 410 sprint car ranks following a podium finish on July 11th with the top 4 in points all within 150 points of each other.

Joining them will be the always competitive Penns Valley Meat Market PA Sprint Series 305 Sprint Cars and the 358 Sprint Cars, giving fans a full night of open-wheel racing action.

Thanks to the generosity of Wray’s Landscaping of Lewistown, Kenworth of PA in Carlisle, Baker’s Archery in Halifax, LandPro of Mifflintown, and Port Royal Speedway Ministries, fans will have the opportunity to take home hats and other great prizes throughout the evening.

Adding even more excitement to the giveaways, eight special bonus prizes have been hidden among different hats courtesy of Wray’s Landscaping, Kenworth of PA, and LandPro. Two lucky fans will receive hats worth an additional $30 cash, four hats will include $10 cash, and two more will award $20 in LandPro store credit, making every giveaway a chance to win even more.

Fans should also be sure to visit the Port Royal Speedway Ministries Fan Zone, where additional games, activities, and prize drawings will take place throughout the evening. Children ages 17 and under can also register for the popular Jr. Fan of the Night program for a chance to enjoy one of Port Royal Speedway’s signature fan experiences.

General admission is just $20 for adults, $10 for students ages 13-17, while children ages 12 and under are admitted free. Pit admission is $35.

Pit gates will open at 4:00 p.m., with general admission gates opening at 4:30 p.m. Hot laps are scheduled for 6:00 p.m., and racing gets underway at 7:00 p.m.
