COLUMN BY: Martin Belanger CORNWALL MOTOR SPEEDWAY – CORNWALL, ON – After a week off, Cornwall Motor Speedway roared back to life on Propane Levac Night, featuring the Battle on the Border 358-Modified Series, a full racing program, and the Eastern Ontario Vintage Club.

The Battle on the Border 358-Modified Series feature saw Brian McDonald grab the early lead over Ryan Stabler and Jarrett Herbison. The leaders encountered heavy lap traffic by lap 16, allowing Stabler to make his move and take over the top spot on lap 17. A caution for Louie Jackson on lap 19 regrouped the field, but Stabler remained in command on the restart while McDonald and Corey Wheeler battled fiercely for second. Stabler never looked back, leading the remaining laps to score his first Cornwall victory of the season.

The 25-lap Canadian Barge Builder Sportsman feature saw Tristan Ladouceur jump out front early, while Jacob Nadeau quickly worked his way into second ahead of Dan Reif. On the restart, Ladouceur to the lead as Jeff Lapalme was now in third. Ladouceur led the entire feature and got his first win in Cornwall in 2026 over Nadeau and Lapalme.

In the 25-lap Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock feature, Dave Seguin led the opening lap before the first caution flew for Eric Jean-Louis. On the restart, Jocelyn Lizotte powered into the lead over Seguin, but another caution slowed the field on lap four. Lizotte again controlled the restart, with Seguin and Tyler Bushey battling for second. Out front, Lizotte steadily pulled away to capture his third victory of the season.

The 20-lap Fun Zone Party Inflatables Novice Sportsman feature provided plenty of excitement early as Kyle Reif took the lead ahead of Dereck Allard and Garin Thompson. A caution on lap six was the only interruption, and Reif went on to lead every lap for his first win of the season.

The evening opened with the 20-lap Rick’s Ranch Mini-Stock feature. Christopher Proulx took the lead from the start before an early caution on lap two. Another yellow on lap five slowed the field following an incident on the frontstretch. Proulx remained flawless throughout the event, leading every lap to earn the victory over Carl Gorry and Sébastien Raymond-Beauregard.

The Eastern Ontario Vintage Club rounded out the program with a 20-lap feature. Randy Gaudet led the opening half before Josh Powers took over at the midway point. Powers claimed the victory in the 1970-80 division, while Chris Wilson earned top honours in the 1950-60 division.

The action continues next Sunday with the always popular Autograph Night, featuring the Battle on the Border Pro-Stock Series along with a full program of racing. For more information, visit Cornwall Motor Speedway online at cornwallspeedway.com, follow the track on Facebook, X (@cms_speedway), and Instagram for news, results, and giveaways throughout the season.
