Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / BRIAN BROWN RACING – GRAIN VALLEY, MO – With wet weather finally out of the forecast, it is now time to turn some laps in the Sunshine State, as “Blackjack” Brian Brown and Brian Brown Racing (BBR) are set to begin their 2022 open wheel campaign with a stint in sunny De Leon Springs, Florida, joining the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series for the annual DIRTcar Nationals on February 10-12.
“We’re ready. The last few weeks or so haven’t been too pleasant with so much snow at home, and now rain, but I’m glad to be hanging out in some warmer temperatures,” Brian Brown said. “Hats off to my guys; Danny Lasoski, Tye Wolfgang, and Justin Lawer. The off-season is quick, but they never fail to have this team prepared and ready to go. We’ll work as hard as we can to get this Casey’s/FVP No. 21 up front at Volusia.”
BBR will attempt to utilize their trip to Volusia as a perfect momentum kick for the coming season, ultimately picking up right where they left off in 2021. Impressive, nonetheless, Brown earned eight victories a season ago, amassing a total of 20 top-five finishes in 67 starts. If not to say enough, over half of Brown’s starts resulted in top-ten appearances, earning 35 along the way.
Of Brown’s victories, four were attained at the famed Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, and one was earned with the All Star Circuit of Champions; a $7,000 triumph in his own backyard at I-70 Motorsports Park in Odessa, Missouri.
BBR highlighted their 2021 trip to Volusia Speedway Park with a 14th-place score with the All Star Circuit of Champions on February 3. Although missing the top-ten, Brown led the first six laps of the 25-lap program, scoring the front row after winning one of two All Star dashes.
