Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / DANNY DIETRICH RACING – GETTYSBURG, PA – Three main event starts in Central Pennsylvania resulted in three top-five finishes for “Double-D” Danny Dietrich during Memorial Day weekend, highlighted with a victory at Williams Grove Speedway to kick-off the holiday on Friday night, May 26. Dietrich’s flag-to-flag victory, his fourth of the season and his first at Williams Grove Speedway, was worth $4,000.
The Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, native continued his Memorial Day weekend campaign in Central Pennsylvania with back-to-back appearances at the Port Royal Speedway “Speed Palace” in Port Royal on Saturday and Monday, May 27 & 29. Dietrich finished fourth and second during his two-day stint at the Juniata County Fairgrounds; second on Saturday, May 27, to open Bob Weikert Memorial weekend, followed by a fourth place performance during the $10,000 finale on Monday, May 29 (postponed from Sunday, May 28, due to wet weather).
Memorial Day weekend results allowed Dietrich to maintain his position on top of the Central PA Sprint Series presented by Hoseheads championship, now with an 81-point margin over Fayetteville, Pennsylvania’s Lance Dewease.
“It was a great weekend for our team, no doubt about that,” Danny Dietrich said. “I can’t thank my crew enough for what they do to make this car go forward. I’m positive we have even bigger things to come this season. I also want to thank the Weikert family for everything they did this weekend at Port Royal Speedway. We tried to win the Bob Weikert Memorial for them, but came up a little short. We’ll work on some things this week and try again on Friday night.”
