Story By: SHAWN BROUSE / WILLIAMS GROVE SPEEDWAY – MECHANICSBURG, PA – The first appearance of the season by the United Racing Club Sprints is on tap this Friday, June 2 at Williams Grove Speedway when the 360 c.i.-powered URCs race with the Lawrence Chevrolet 410 sprint cars.
Action begins at 8 pm.
Adult general admission is $17 with youth ages 13 – 20 admitted for $10 and ages 12 and under admitted to the show for free.
Ages 12 and under are always admitted for FREE at Williams Grove Speedway.
The Williams Grove Speedway portion of the 50/50 on the night will be donated to Monroe Township Community Day.
The URC Sprints will race in a full complement of heat races and a 25-lap feature, paying $2,000 to the winner on Friday night.
Last season in URC action at Williams Grove, Greg Hodnett was victorious in three of four events with Davie Franek taking the other.
The June 2 show for URC at Williams Grove will be the first of three appearances this season at the track.
The 410 sprint cars will race in heats and a 25-lap feature paying $3,800 to win this Friday.
Freddie Rahmer has set himself up as the point leader to date in the division.
June 9 will find the speedway offering School’s Out Night for youngsters featuring the 410 sprints and the return of the Appalachian Mountain Dirt Late Model Speedweek Series to the historic oval.
The big program will find the best in the super late model business returning to Williams Grove to compete in a 40-lap, $4,000 to win feature event.
