Story By CHARLIE LANGLOIS / FREEDOM MOTORSPORTS PARK – DELEVAN, NY – Freedom Motorsports Park will feature a weekly Friday night four division racing program in 2018.
The ultra exciting Outlaw Modifieds will be in action on fourteen race nights and the always popular Super Late Models visit four times during the year. The Prime Time Energy Services Outlaw Modifieds, Dialed Designs DIRTcar Sportsman, Cummings Trucking Street Stocks and Danny Heineman & Sons Mini Stocks will be the regular divisions. The Pepsi Cola opening night green flag is scheduled for 7:30 pm on Friday, May 11.
The Prime Time Energy Services Outlaw Modifieds have numerous special events scheduled. It will be Twin 20’s for the big and small block ground pounders on Danny Heineman & Sons Night, June 15. The July 20 Instant Heat Wood Pellets Autograph Night will be highlighted by the 40 lap Fulton Outlaw 200 Qualifier and an opportunity to meet and greet the driver’s trackside at intermission. The fourth annual Budweiser King of the Hill Championship Night will take place on August 31. The Outlaw Modifieds will also play a major role in the only Saturday event of the year as the Upstate Auto Group and Close Racing Supply present the second annual Big Dog Spectacular on September 15.
The Murphy’s Logging ULMS Super Late Models are in town for the first time on May 25 for the fourth edition of the Bob McKerrow & Sons RV Ron Baker Memorial. Yorkshire Battery presents the ULMS Pete Loretto Memorial on July 13 and Murphy’s Logging Night is set for August 10. The Super Late Models final appearance will be on the September 15 Big Dog Saturday. Murphy’s Logging will again award $300 to the fast timer at each event.
The Crate Late Models will make a return on July 27 in a special $1000 to win event on Mesler Trucking Night.
The Dialed Designs DIRTcar Sportsman will race in two $1000 to win features this season. Bellinger Electric presents the BEI Lightning Series on July 6 and Cummings Trucking and Dialed Designs showcase a special DIRTcar Sportsman tour event on August 3.
The NY6A Micro Sprint Tour visits Freedom on June 29 and August 10. The June 29 event is brought to you by Sahlens Hot Dogs and the card will have extra dollars on the line for the Mini Stocks. The August 10 show will include a visit by the Pure Stocks.
The third annual $750 to win Bixby Hill Shootout Street Stock extravaganza takes place on Barnacle Brothers Reclaimed Lumber Night, June 22. Primetime Energy Services (May 18, June 1), Sixt Lumber (June 8) and Marcos Pizza (August 24) will also sponsor race nights when all regular divisions will be in action.
A practice session has been scheduled for Sunday May 6 which will also include the Spring Enduro. The Fall Enduro takes place on Saturday October 13.
The track is scheduled to be silent on August 17 for the local county fairs although this night may be used as a rain date if necessary.
