Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / BROCK ZEARFOSS RACING – JONESTOWN, PA – Effective immediately, Brock Zearfoss and Destiny Motorsports have parted ways. The Jonestown, Pa., native will return to the Zearfoss Family-owned No. 3Z full-time beginning with World Finals competition which commences tomorrow – Thursday, November 1 – at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, North Carolina.
“I want to thank Rick and Barb Rogers for the opportunity to drive for Destiny Motorsports. It was a great experience to race out on the road and visit new tracks and states. Unfortunately, things didn’t sort out as intended and we’ve decided to part ways,” Brock Zearfoss explained. “I want to thank the crew – Shane, Kevin, and Tyler – for their hard work and support during the last few months. I’m excited for what the future holds for me. Our plans for 2019 are coming together quickly.”
During recent competition, Brock Zearfoss and Brock Zearfoss Racing entered the 51st running of the Tuscarora 50 at Port Royal Speedway. Forced to wait an extra day due to Mother Nature, Zearfoss battled against a loaded field of 51 entries during the historic, $51,000-to-win program and qualified for the 50-lap main event by finishing second during his respective heat race. Plagued with brake issues, Zearfoss was forced to retire early; he was scored 17th after starting 11th.
“Considering the circumstances, we decided to enter the Tuscarora 50 with our own car,” Brock Zearfoss said, driver of the Brock Zearfoss Racing/Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill/Meckley’s Limestone/Central Builders Supply Co./Berkebile Oil Company/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/Creekside Roofing and Siding/Bargain Barn/No. 3Z. “It wasn’t a bad day for our team. We ended up breaking a brake line which forced things to kind of end early for us. I want to thank my family and crew for helping me get things ready in a hurry. I’m excited to get back in the ‘3Z’ this weekend in Charlotte.”
World Finals competition will begin with two rounds of qualifying time trials on Thursday, followed by back-to-back nights of racing on Friday and Saturday, November 2 & 3.
