Story By: KENNY SHUPP / OUTLAW SPEEDWAY – DUNDEE, NY – With persistent snow showers putting an end to the 2nd and final day of the 3rd Annual Dutch Hoag Memorial event originally scheduled for Saturday, November 10, 2018, the event will now be staged on Saturday, April 13, 2019.
It was well documented last fall that the track preparation crew and the ownership of the facility tried everything possible to get the show into the books on the original advertised date in late October. That event was scrubbed due to on again, off again rain storms so the November 10 date was set to try and get the event in prior to closing up shop for the 2018 season. But as she had done on numerous occasions during the “18” season, Mother Nature just didn’t want to cooperate thus the April 13, 2019 make-up.
On the day of the first rain out on October 20 some 201 cars had checked in for the eight classes of competition that were to be run and hopefully all and even more will make the return engagement for the April 13 make-up of the highly prestigious Dutch Hoag Memorial Triple 7’s Event.
With big winner’s checks and huge purse structures for all the classes that will see competition it is a sure bet that everyone will return for the 350 laps of feature action.
All rain check’s and wrist bands from the October 20, 2018 cancellation will be honored on the April 13, 2019 make-up date.
Gate times for both pit admittance and the main grandstand seating area along with ticket prices can be found on the tracks Facebook and web site accounts.
Free camping and parking will be available all weekend with free rides on the Outlaw Speedway Monster Truck, “Outlaw Crusher” starting right after the main gates open on Saturday.
The second of two scheduled practice sessions will be held the night prior to the Dutch Hoag Memorial on Friday, April 12 and it is anticipated that most or all competitors that will be running the following day will be at the track to shake down their equipment.
Once again a mouthwatering Chicken BBQ will available at the main concession stand on Saturday.
The Empire 100 for the classy Stan’s No Tubes Street Stocks will find Kurt Stebbins, Glen Whritenour and Jared Dennis all locked into guaranteed spots at the front of the field and all 100 laps are sponsored for lap money.
By virtue of his win in the Modified Dash on Day 1 of Dutch Hoag Weekend, Tyler Siri will start on the pole for the 70 lap, $7,000 to win, $700 to start Gunslinger Modified feature event.
Along with the Stan’s No Tubes Street Stocks and Friendly Chrysler Dodge, Jeep, Ram Modifieds there will also be full qualifying events for the first Outlaw Speedway American Racer Tire Crate Sportsman Series event of 2019, the Doug Gross Construction Crate Late Models, as well as the Marion M.
