Story By: PAUL SZMAL / FREEDOM MOTORSPORTS PARK – DELEVAN, NY – Heavy overnight rains and saturated grounds have combined to postpone the scheduled season opener at Freedom Motorsports Park on May 10th.
“Even though the skies are cloudy now, the track and the grounds are completely soaked and there’s no way for them to dry out in time,” said promoter Bob Reis. “The good thing is that we had the raindate built into the season schedule to just move to next week.”
Freedom Motorsports Park will now open its 2019 season on Friday, May 17th with the Super Late Models, DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds, Street Stocks, Mini Stocks, and Bandits.
The night’s action will be presented by JRM Equipment and R.G. Mason Auction. Pit gates will open at 5:00 p.m. with grandstand gates opening at 6:00 p.m. and racing will begin at 7:30 p.m.
The following Friday, May 24th will see the first appearance of the ULMS Super Late Models for the 2019 season with the running of the 5th annual Ron Baker Memorial, presented by Briggs Transport. The DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds, Street Stocks, Mini Stocks, and Bandits will join the card.
Pre-registration for the next of the Enduro Series events, scheduled for June 30th, will also be available online shortly at the track web site, Freedom Motorsports Park
