Story By: KENNY SHUPP / WOODHULL RACEWAY – WOODHULL, NY – After getting washed out on the regularly schedule night of June 19, the ULMS Late Model Touring Series was set to return to the high banks of the Woodhull Raceway on Saturday, July 31, 2021.
However, due to a scheduling snafu along with other series concerns surrounding tire shortages and numerous drivers that have parked machines due to engine component shortages, ULMS Promoter, Chris Zuver has announced that the return of the Super Late Model Reunion will have to wait another year.
Both parties are already in negotiations hoping for a suitable date in 2022.
Gates for the July 31 event will open for both pit and grandstand entry at 4:30 with the first green of the night waving at 6:30 pm.
On the card it will be a regular show of the Insinger Performance Modifieds, the NAPA Crate Sportsman, the Joe Willcox Performance Street Stocks along with the Woodhull Auto Supply Hobby Stock divisions. Also seeing action will be the Cummings Trucking RUSH Late Models as well as the Big Jim’s Wicked Tee’s sponsored Youth Warrior’s and Mini Stocks. The Johnson Auto Supply Front Wheel Drive Division wraps up the Great 8 show.
On top of an already aggressive night, Dgien Trucking of Howard, NY will present the Annual Insinger Performance Modified King of the Ring 1 on 1 challenge where all the Woodhull regulars will try and knock off the all-time Woodhull Raceway Modified Track Champion and twice King of the Ring winner, Billy VanPelt.
In addition to BVP other King of the Ring Modified winners include Kenny Peoples Jr., Josh Nobriga, Mike Bills, Donnie Lawson, Russell Morseman and Bob Davis.
The Christmas in July Bicycle Give Away that was part of the washed- out July 17 event will on the July 31 event where some forty-five children’s bikes will be handed out complements of the track ownership.
Dgien Trucking is a diverse trucking company primarily focusing on the hauling of aggregates including the large rip rap stones used in stream bank improvement. In addition, Dgien Trucking hauls other stone, sand and crushed gravels from several local sources to both municipal and private sector businesses. Woodhull Raceway To Open The Month Of August With Great 8 Show
After a season filled with no less than 6 rained out events, Woodhull Raceway owners/Promoters, Terry and Niki Brewer are hoping for much better weather as they will swing the gates for the first full event in the month of August.
A Great 8 Show will await anxious fans including the premier Insinger Performance Modifieds, the NAPA Crate Sportsman, the Cummings Trucking RUSH Crate Late Models along with the Joe Willcox Performance Street’s. Also, in action it will be a pair on Big Jim’s Wicked Tee’s sponsored divisions in the Mini Stocks and Youth Warrior Classes. Rounding out the card will be the Johnson Auto Supply FWD’s as well as the highly popular Woodhull Auto Supply Hobby Stocks.
Both pit and grandstand gates for the August 7 event open at 4:30 with head flagger, Tony VanPelt waving the first green at 6:30 pm.
Former Woodhull Raceway owners, Ted and Brandi White of Harrison Valley, Pa who now are the proprietors of Pizza N Stuff, State Route 49 in downtown Westfield, Pa will be one of a pair of nightly sponsors of the August 7 show.
Pizza and Stuff features a dine in or to-go menu including pizza, stromboli, wings, salads, and freshly made hot and cold subs and sandwiches. Pizza N Stuff also offers complete catering services.
Joining Pizza N Stuff will be Dave’s Custom Logging who for the second consecutive year will join forces to co-sponsor an event at Woodhull.
Dave Youse along with his son and current Insinger Performance Modified competitor, Cole Youse are the owners of Dave’s Custom Logging. Cole, a former Woodhull Warrior Track Champion moved into the competitive Crate Sportsman Division prior to his entry into the full-blown Modified ranks beginning in 2021.
