Story By: BRETT DEYO / FONDA SPEEDWAY – FONDA, NY – At $53,000 to win, the Fonda 200 offers the most lucrative top prize in dirt Modified racing.
The three-day racing festival takes place Sept. 16-18, 2021 at the famed Fonda Speedway, headlined by the 200-lap Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco Modified event rewarding the winner with $53,000 and $1,000 reserved just to take the green flag at the Track of Champions.
This season, the event is a points-paying STSS Hurlock Auto & Speed Supply North Region event for the first time.
The three-day event kicks off Thursday, Sept. 16 with open practice for all divisions plus the ‘Underdog 33’ Modified special paying $2,000 to the winner. This event is open only to drivers not having won a Modified feature at any facility in 2021.
Friday night’s (Sept. 17) program consists of Sunoco Modified qualifying, CRSA Sprint Cars, Pro Stocks ($1,000 to win), Street Stocks ($500 to win) and Four Cylinders.
Saturday (Sept. 18) is the culmination of the weekend with the Sunoco Modified B-Mains and 200 plus STSS Crate 602 Sportsman in a Precision Hydraulic & Oil North Region $1,500-to-win event.
Sunday (Sept. 19) is reserved as a rain date.
