Hank Williams sang those lyrics in 1952. In 2021, the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco will bring them to life.
The ’21 edition of the ‘Cajun Swing’ is set, touring the Northeast-style big-block/small-block Modifieds through the state of Louisiana starting Tuesday, Nov. 9 and continuing through Saturday, Nov. 13. The Short Track Super Series joins forces with the series’ Cajun Region for five consecutive nights of racing at four different venues in the Bayou State.
The famed Boothill Speedway in Greenwood, La., celebrating its 49th season of operation, will play host to the first night of action on Tuesday, Nov. 9. The STSS Modifieds will take part in a 40-lap, $4,000-to-win event to kick off the Cajun Swing, with the Limited Modifieds, Factory Stocks and FWD Four Cylinders completing the program.
Gene Boyter’s racy Ark-La-Tex Speedway in Vivian, La., is the setting for Night No. 2 of the Cajun Swing on Wednesday, Nov. 10. Again, the STSS Modifieds take part in a 40-lap, $4,000-to-win program supported by the Crate Late Models, Pro Mods and Four Cylinders.
Recognized as one of the premier short-track facilities in the country, The Rev in Monroe, La., will roar to life on Thursday, Nov. 11. $5,000 is up for grabs for a 40-lap STSS Modified feature, with $400 to take the green. The Limited Modifieds and Factory Stocks complete the card.
The final two nights of racing on Friday, Nov. 12 and Saturday, Nov. 13 are set for the renamed
Super Bee Speedway in Chatham, La., for the ‘Mods in the Marsh’ weekend.
On Friday night, a 40-lap, $4,000-to-win preliminary feature is on tap with the B-Mods, Factory Stocks and Compacts also in competition.
Saturday is reserved for the ‘Mods in the Marsh 75’ paying a massive $20,000 to win for the STSS Modifieds and $500 to take the green flag. The STSS Modified headliner will be joined by Street Stocks and Limited Modifieds.
