Story By: RYAN DELPH / CHRIS MADDEN RACING – GAFFNEY, SC – “Smokey” Chris Madden wrapped up his 2021 racing season in a big way on Sunday, November 21 by collecting his seventh career ‘Blue/Gray 100’ victory at the nearby Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, South Carolina!
In the late-season special, which was co-sanctioned by the Drydene Xtreme DIRTcar Series and the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series, Chris qualified well before securing a popular heat race win.
After drawing the sixth starting spot before the drop of the green flag in the 100-lapper, Chris ran a conservative race and made his tires last the entire feature distance.
The Gray Court, South Carolina superstar took command of the ‘Blue/Gray 100’ on lap 79 when polesitter Ross Bailes suffered a flat tire and went on to beat runner-up Brandon Overton by 0.886 seconds.
Rounding out the top five behind $10,000 winner Madden and runner-up Overton were third place finisher Devin Moran, fourth place runner Carson Ferguson, and fifth place Michael Brown.
