Story By: RYAN DELPH / DENNIS ERB RACING – CARPENTERSVILLE, IL – Dennis Erb, Jr. and his #28 team wrapped up their hectic 2021 racing season on November 12-13 in the inaugural running of the ‘Peach State Classic’ at Senoia Raceway in Senoia, Georgia.
On Friday night on the gray gumbo, Dennis timed in seventh quickest in Group A during the Super Late Model qualifying session prior to running fourth in his stacked heat race. Following a B-Main triumph to advance into the $10,000 to win ‘Peach Bowl Classic’ opener, Dennis wound up twentieth in the final finishing order after 25 green flag circuits.
In Saturday’s conclusion of the ‘Peach State Classic’ weekend, which also served as the final event of the season for Dennis Erb Racing, a whopping $52,052 top prize was up for grabs at Senoia Raceway. Dennis stopped the clock eighteenth fastest in Group B during time trials before advancing all the way to fourth in his heat race. After securing another victory in his B-Main, Dennis was making strides forward in the 75-lapper until he clipped the inside wall and folded under his front bumper. The Carpentersville, Illinois ace wound up pulling off the racing surface late in the distance and was officially paid for a seventeenth place performance. With their 2021 campaign now complete, Dennis and the team can look back on what was a strong season. Since his year started back on January 14 at Volusia (FL) Speedway Park, Dennis entered a total of 96 Super Late Model events and racked up 4 feature victories, 18 top five finishes, and 43 top ten efforts along the way. In World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series action, he reached victory lane on a trio of different occasions and finished a career-best fourth in the final national point standings.
