Story By: KENNY SHUPP / OUTLAW SPEEDWAY – DUNDEE, NY – Outlaw Speedway track owner and promoter, Tyler Siri is pleased to announce that the Harbor Hotel, located along the southern shore of Seneca Lake in Watkins Glen, NY will be the setting for the 6th Annual Outlaw Speedway Awards Banquet.
“We are glad to return to the Harbor Hotel for this season’s awards festivities, stated Siri. Last year with all the restrictions surrounding Covid 19 we had to make some adjustments due to the strict NYS guidelines on limiting dining space to half capacity. This year things have opened back up and we are thrilled to be back in Watkins Glen at the Harbor Hotel.”
Saturday, January 22, 2022 is the date for the annual awards affair with cocktail hour along with hors d’oeuvers starting at 6 PM. A mouthwatering buffet style prime rib dinner will be served at 7 pm followed by the traditional awards ceremony where all the 2021 Outlaw Speedway Track Champions will be honored.
In addition, the top ten in the final point standings for all of Outlaw’s seven weekly classes of competition will receive awards and point fund money.
The Hurricane, Steve Paine of Waterloo, NY will receive a check for $5,000 for claiming his eleventh overall Outlaw Speedway Track Title dating back to 1998.
In the abbreviated season for the Lane’s Yamaha 360 Sprint Division, No Panic Davie Franek will claim the title in the inaugural season for the high-powered sprint class.
Other 2021 Track Champions include third generation driver and sixteen-year-old Hopewell, NY driver Alex Payne in the Sunrise Insulation American Racer Tire 602 Crate Sportsman Division along with eighteen-year-old Chemung, NY pilot, Ajay Potrzebowski Jr. who claimed the title in the Speed Connection DIRTcar Hoosier Tire 602 Sportsman Division.
Veteran Jasper, NY speedster, Glen Whritenour will again be highlighted as the 2021 Stan’s No Tubes Street Stock Champ making it two in a row and four of the past five titles in the class.
The NAPA Sponsored Hobby Stock Class will find Marc Minutolo claiming his third division title in the past four seasons and last but certainly not least, Scott Lehman will receive his recognition as the overall champion in the Winner’s Circle Deli 4 Cylinder Mini Stock Division, his first ever track title.
All drivers receiving trophies and point fund money must be present and asked to come dressed in appropriate attire.
In addition to all the hardware and cash that track owner, Tyler Siri will dish out, he will also present numerous special awards including Rookie, Sportsman, Media, Dedication to Motorsports, Employee of the Year, Car Owner of the Year as well as many other special awards that he traditionally hands out.
It is well known that Siri shows much appreciation to his track sponsors and employees and the 2021 awards ceremony will be no different.
Tickets are priced at $45/person and limited to the first three hundred.
Payment is made out to Outlaw Speedway and mailed to 1163 Hibbard Road, Horseheads, NY 14845.
Tickets are sold on a first come, first serve basis and tickets will not be sold at the door.
