Ron Ford To Continue As Afton Motorsports Park’s Promoter In ’23; Track Moves To Saturday Nights

Story By: TODD STANTON / AFTON MOTORSPORTS PARK – AFTON, NY – Ron Ford has come to terms with the Afton Fair Board to continue as the promoter of the three-tenths-mile clay oval for the 2023 season.

After a couple of meetings and lengthy discussions with, Fairboard President Rhonda Barringer and the boards members about making a move to Saturday nights it was put to a vote. After tallying all the votes Saturday night was approved by the board.

We are happy to announce that Afton Motorsports Park will be racing on Saturday Nights in 2023. Gates will open at 4pm with racing at 630pm. Divisions will be announced later this week.

“There was a lot of thought and research that went into our decision to run on Saturday Nights. The response was overwhelming and we believe this is the right decision, I would also like to thank all the fans, drivers and sponsors that have reached out to us” added Ford.

Another change that will be happening in 2023 Todd Stanton will become the General Manager of Afton Motorsports Park in 2023. He also had this to add, ” I would like to thank Ron Ford for this opportunity and the fair board for allowing me to be apart of the process. It has been a dream of mine since I was little to be able to help out the racing community. I look forward to going Saturday nights and all the challenges that may be ahead “.
