Story By: BRETT DEYO / FONDA SPEEDWAY – FONDA, NY – With forecasted weather late in the evening on Saturday, Fonda Speedway management has announced a schedule change for the Montgomery County Open in memory of Jumpin’ Jack Johnson Saturday, April 22.
Gates will now open at 2 p.m., with hot laps at 4 p.m. and racing to follow at 5 p.m. for the 72nd Season Opener.
Amsterdam Truck Center Modifieds – racing with sail panels – headline the program paying $12,000 to the winner after 40 laps around the Track of Champions.
NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series points will be distributed in addition to 25 show-up points toward the track championship battle.
Weekly point battles begin for the Swagger Factory Apparel Crate 602 Sportsman, Below Zero Ice Cream Pro Stocks, Montgomery County Office for Aging Limited Sportsman and Fonda Fair Four Cylinders.
Grandstand admission is $25 for Adults, $23 for Seniors (ages 65 and up) and Kids 11 and under are FREE.
Pit admission is $45 (Adults), $40 (NASCAR or Fonda Members), $10 Kids (ages 6-12) and $2 Children (ages 5 and under).
