Story By: JIM CLARKE / BROCKVILLE ONTARIO SPEEDWAY – BROCKVILLE, ONT – Racing’s winged warriors have long been considered an important part of the local motorsports scene.
The 2023 schedule at Brockville Ontario Speedway has 16 Saturday night programs during the regular season. Sprint Cars will be part of the line-up for 11 of those shows. Starting with the home track Trailer Pros Canada 360 Crate Sprints, who take centre stage on 9 occasions, this year’s calendar also includes the Action Sprint Tour and the return of the Empire Super Sprints – Saturday, June 24th – for the first time since 2019.
“Over the years, our crowds have always been strong when the Sprint Cars come to town,” said track owner and promoter Paul Kirkland. “With 4 Suprenant Truck Shop East Region dates for the Action Sprint Tour Series and a pair of AST National programs to compliment our regular division shows, this should be an excellent year for fans of things with wings.”
Kirkland is also quick to point out that if the regular season dates aren’t enough, Brockville Speedway will host the decisive point night for the SOS 360 Sprint Cars during the Saturday, October 14th finale of the Dirt Outlaw Apparel/King Edward Carquest Auto Parts Fall Nationals.
For a couple of special treats, be sure to check out the track’s first ever Topless Night – Saturday, June 17th – presented by Draper Doors. The Small Block and Sportsman-Modified divisions will run the full show without a roof on the car to give fans a bird’s eye view of what goes on from the driver’s seat. Trick Race Parts presents a 50-lap Run What Ya Brung Special event paying $4000 to win Saturday, July 8th.
Teams will get a chance to put their equipment through its paces before this year’s opener when the track hosts an open practice and pre-race technical inspection session Saturday, May 6th. Pit gates open at 11:00 and admission is $20.00, with a completed digital waiver required. Track time runs from 1:00 ‘til 4:00, with canteen service available. The grandstand area will remain closed.
