The 358 Sprint Car Summer Series will be joining the Quandel Concrete Modifieds, the USS Achey Crate 602 Sportsman, the Big Creek Concrete Crate 602 Rookies and the Red White and Blue Autos Roadrunners as part of this Friday’s summer spectacular.
Last Friday’s Quandel Concrete Georgie Stevenson Memorial race was won by Ryan Watt aboard the Fitzpatrick Racing No. T102. It was the Boyertown; PA drivers first win at Big Diamond since winning the Coalcracker 72 back in 2020. All drivers in attendance received show up points last Friday leaving the race for the championship unchanged with Brett Kressley leading the standings over Jeff Strunk, Duane Howard, Mike Gular and Rick Laubach.
Jordan Henn by virtue of his win on Friday has taken the lead in the race for the USS Crate 602 Sportsman 2023 points title over Logan Watt. Although there is plenty of time left in the season, the battle for the championship looks to be a two-car race between Henn and Watt as the two drivers remain very close. Lurking not too far behind are drivers Kevin Olenick, Danny Buccafusca and Mike Schneck just waiting for the top two to have a bad race to insert themselves into the title race.
Big Diamond Speedway management has made a change for the Big Creek Concrete Rooking division for the remainder of the season. The division will now run weekly for the remainder of the season and will not race for points. Last week’s winner Brennan Chapman now joins Jax Yohn as three-time winners this season.
With his win last Friday, Red White and Blue Autos Roadrunner driver Alex Schoffstall has now become the winningest driver in the Roadrunner division at the speedway. Schoffstall won his 26th career feature win which also vaulted him past Chuck Fayash into the points lead.
