Story By: MARTIN BELANGER / CORNWALL MOTOR SPEEDWAY – CORNWALL, ONT – COOP Embrun was sponsoring Autograph Night at Cornwall Motor Speedway as a full program was on the docket in all our 5 regular divisions.
Johnathon Ferguson took the lead in the 35-lap JLB Heating and Cooling 358-Modified feature over Ryan Stabler as both drivers were in a battle for the lead. Stabler had a good line on top and took first on lap 8 with Carey Terrance in the mix as he took second on lap 10. Terrance used a restart to grab the lead over Stabler on lap 12. Terrance the leader with a lot of movement behind him as Felix Roy was now in contention using the inside lane to move to second with Ferguson in third with 15 laps to go. Gilles Godard brought the caution with 2 laps to go. What a great finish as Terrance resisted charges from Roy to grab the feature as Gage Morin completed the podium. Terrance collected his 30th feature in Cornwall tonight.
In the 25-lap Next Level Home Improvement Sportsman feature, Tyler Givogue took the lead as William Racine moved to second. Racine was strong on the top side as he took first on lap 9 with Justin Cyr running in third. Racine had another strong showing capturing his 4th feature of the season at Cornwall in front of Givogue and Justin Cyr.
The Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock feature was the first feature on the track after the intermission. Kevin Fetterly led the way over Marc Lalonde as both raced together with Lalonde taking the lead as caution came out on lap 4. Lalonde had a strong car in front as Fetterly and Burton Ward were the top 3 at halfway point. Lalonde resisted to charges from Fetterly and captured his 6th feature of the season.
Carl Gorry was the early leader in the 20-lap Ricks Ranch Mini-Stock feature with Dan Cook and Anthony Laflamme behind the leader. Cook had a nose over Gorry when caution came out on lap 6. A few good battles for the lead as Brandon McMillan became the new leader on lap 12 with Laflamme in second. McMillan the leader with James Clarke in the mix with Laflamme for second. McMillan led the final laps to win his second feature of the year.
Marco McCarthy had a solid run in the 15-lap Novice Sportsman Feature as he ran the whole feature in front and won his first feature of the season.
