Story By: BIG DIAMOND SPEEDWAY – MINERSVILLE, PA – After being rained out earlier this season, The MacMor Construction 358 Sprint Car Summer Series makes their only visit to Big Diamond Speedway this season on Friday night, August 25th as part of No Sweat Industrial Solutions Night.

The 358 Sprint Car Summer Series is a six-race series for the 358 Sprint Cars that run mainly in central PA. Friday night’s feature event will pay $1,500 to the winner with $175 to take the green.

There will be a host of extra cash awards available to the 358 Sprint Cars this Friday. Included in those awards are the Quandel Concrete Hard Charger Award worth $300. Other cash prizes include: $200 from Mamma’s Pizza for the heat race winners (Money to be divided by how many heats), $100 for the first DNF in the feature courtesy of The 4-Wide Salute: A Dirt Racing Podcast & Dereka Mae Designs, $100 Fastest Time in hot laps from Pro Shine Detailing, $100 from Ant Bay for the first non-qualifier out of the B-Main and finally Jared Winand from JDI Site will be adding $250 to the overall purse making it $200 to take the green and $650 for 3rd.

The 358 Sprint Car Summer Series will be joining the Quandel Concrete Modifieds, the USS Achey, Inc Crate 602 Sportsman, the Big Creek Concrete Crate 602 Rookies and the Red White and Blue Autos Roadrunners as part of this Friday’s night of racing.

The season is winding down quickly with only two nights remaining in the race for the Quandel Concrete 358 Championship. Brett Kressley is the current points leader with a 60-point lead over Mike Gular. Jeff Strunk lurks just behind in third with Louden Reimert and Duane Howard completing the top five. Gular has been on a hot streak as of late and will be looking to stay hot and bypass Kressley and win his second Big Diamond points title. Kressley, who was the bridesmaid last season losing to Duane Howard on the last night is hungry for his first points title and will be hard to beat.

In the USS Achey, Inc. Crate 602 Sportsman race the for the title, the battle is just as tight. Jordan Henn leads the way but the Rockaway Rocket, Danny Buccafusca has been on fire as of late winning three out of the last five Crate 602 races to thrust himself into the race for championship with last Friday’s winner Logan Watt still in contention in third. Last year’s champion Brendan Edgar has been fast all season long but is still looking for his first win, due to Edgar missing a couple of weeks earlier this season he is all but out of the season long points battle but still sits in fifth with the always steady Kevin Olenick in fourth.

Chuck Fayash maintains his points lead in the Red White and Blue Autos Roadrunner division, but Kris Ney is making a late run now only 69 points behind making this a two-driver race for the 2023 title. The Roadrunner division continues to put on some of the most exciting racing every Friday night.

The Big Creek Concrete Crate Rookie division has done just what the track has hoped for when it was created this season. Rookie feature winners Bryce Bashore and Alex Bartorillo have already made the move to the USS Achey, Inc Crate 602 division and after last Friday, Brennan Chapman will be joining them as well after winning his fourth rookie feature of the year.

After this Friday night, only one race weekend remains. Friday night September 1st will be Championship Night followed up by the crown jewel of the season on Sunday September 3rd with the running of the $15,000 to win Jack Rich Inc. Coalcracker 72.
