Story By: KENNY SHUPP / OUTLAW SPEEDWAY – DUNDEE, NY – The Outlaw Speedway owner/promoter, Tyler Siri has released the tracks 2024 schedule of events.
“I have worked extremely hard over the past few months putting next season’s schedule of events together, exclaimed Siri who will begin his ninth season as owner and promoter of the famed Outlaw Speedway in 2024. To have a schedule the magnitude and diversity that we have put out there requires a lot of back and forth with numerous directors of both regional and national touring groups all coming together to secure dates for the coming year.”
Outlaw Speedway will host one stand-alone test and tune session on Saturday, March 30 with times posted when the date draws nearer.
Then Siri and company will swing the gates for the first Official Two Night Event of the season as the Lucas Nationals will kick off the season on Friday and Saturday, April 5 and 6. Practice and Dashes for Saturday’s program will highlight the Friday night action. Then on Saturday it will be a complete program of Modifieds, Crate Late Models and Crate Sportsman along with Street Stocks, 4 Cylinder and Hobby Stock Divisions.
Outlaw will then come right back the following weekend on April 12 and 13, 2024 with the Cal Lane Memorial Spring Nationals with Friday night once again providing practice and front row dashes for the Saturday night portion of the weekend which will see the return of the Empire Super Sprints making their first appearance of the 2024 race season. The Mighty Modifieds as well as the 602 Crate Sportsman, Street Stocks, Hobby Stocks along with the first of two appearances of the SCDRA 4 Cylinders will make up the Saturday card of events.
Because of the way the date lands, Siri has opted to run the Annual Mike Jackson Memorial on Friday April 19, 2024 to coincide with the car number that Jackson ran throughout most of his career prior to his untimely passing on December 29, 2020.
“Generally, we run the Mike Jackson Tribute Event around the mid part of the season, however this season I thought it would be more appropriate to run it on April 19 to align with his car number. This is always a huge event for the 602 Crate Sportsman Division.” That once again according to Siri.
Also on the Jackson Memorial card will be Modifieds, Hobby Stocks, 4 Cylinders and Street Stocks.
Outlaw will then take their first of three “Nights Off” on April 26 to regroup for the Season Point opening night for all regular weekly classes on Friday, May 3. 2024.
After a successful 2023 season which had Outlaw take three regular nights off during the campaign, Siri will once again follow suit in 2024.
“Beginning in early April and ending in late October takes its toll on everyone including the race teams, fans, and my staff. Taking a few nights off during the season went over very well last year giving everyone a break to do something else.”
Other “Nights Off” will include June 28 for Graduation Weekend along with August 23 prior to the restarting of school in the Fall.
May will be absolutely jam packed with weekly events including the season point kick off on May 3 named in Memory of Roy Silvers which will begin the weekly Super 5 Shows. Mother’s Day Night on May 10 as well as the first of two Thursday Night Thunder Special Events which will see the inaugural running of the High Limit 410 Sprint Car Series. Many of the country’s top 410 Sprint Teams will converge at Outlaw for what promises to be the biggest night ever at the historic Yates County Facility. Make your plans now to be a part of the May 16 event. The Gary Montgomery Memorial will have its traditional Memorial Day Weekend slot with the running of the RUSH Crate Late Model Touring Series on May 24. $5 Fan Appreciation Night including a Super 5 Show on May 31 features all the weekly divisions along with the Bandit Youth Class with the event pulling the curtain on the month of May.

The Mike Emhoff led CRSA Sprints will make their lone appearance of 2024 on Friday, June 21.
Highlighting July will be the Annual $20,000 Fireworks Extravaganza on the 5th as well as the return of the Brett Deyo promoted Short Track Super Series for the tracks second and final Thursday Night Thunder event of the year on July 11. The 2nd Annual Dave Machuga Memorial has many top Modified drivers and teams in the northeast marking Outlaw on their schedules for the STSS which provides fans with some of the best Modified competition anywhere in the entire region. 602 Crate Sportsman, 4 Cylinders and the Empire Street Stock Touring Group will round out the high dollar card.
The Thursday Night Thunder High Limit 410 Sprint Car Show on Thursday, May 16 plus the Short Track Super Series on July 11 will be televised live on Flo Racing.
The July 19 Christmas in July Special offers fans yet another $5 admission ticket. It will be the second Fan Appreciation Night of “24” including an autograph session with the drivers, Santa Claus will make an appearance and there will be a slew of bicycle give-a-ways for the kids.
The traditional Steve Kent Memorial Summer Nationals one night event will be staged on Friday, July 26 and fans will be treated to a pair of regional touring groups in the ULMS Late Models as well as the Empire Super Sprints in addition to Modifieds, Crate Sportsman and the second and final appearance of the SCDRA Front Wheel Drive 4-cylinder Mini Stocks. Street Stock competition will round out the aggressive Kent Memorial Summer Nationals card.
Similar to the month of June, August will also find Outlaw playing host to a trio of Regular Super 5 Shows with the track exercising their third and final “Night Off” prior to the Double Point Season Championship Regular Season Finale which will decide all the weekly track champions on Friday, August 30 prior to the facility making its way into post season play.
After a two-week hiatus, Outlaw will return with the 3rd Annual Ted Siri Memorial on September 13 run in conjunction with NASCAR Weekend at the famed Watkins Glen International Speedway. The USAC Non-Winged 360 Sprints will make their first ever appearance at the track and included on the card will be the second ULMS Super Late Model Show of the year as well as a big pay day for the Modifieds, Crate Sportsman and 4 Cylinders.
One-week later September 20, the 9th Annual Fall Nationals will hit the track with a variety of divisions including the 360 Empire Super Sprints, Modifieds running the Gun Slinger 50, Crate Sportsman, Street and Hobby Stocks all helping celebrate Outlaw Speedway’s 67th consecutive year of great race action in the Finger Lakes Region of Upstate New York
Outlaw Speedway will then take a month off prior to the running of the 9th Annual Outlaw Speedway Dutch Hoag Memorial. October 18 and 19 will find ESS 360 Sprints, Modifieds, Crate Sportsman, the Street Stock Empire 100, Hobby Stocks and 4 Cylinders running as part of the two-day season ending event. All divisions included as part of the Dutch Hoag Memorial Weekend will be racing for record purses as it will be 7’s Wild over the two-day affair!
Also included as part of the Outlaw Speedway 2024 Schedule of Events, King of the Ring one-on-one events in all five of the Regular weekly Divisions are dotted throughout the season.
“This is the most aggressive schedule that I have put together in my nine years of owning the track. It shows a good mix of 305, 360 and 410 Sprints, Modified, Crate Sportsman, Super and RUSH Late Models, Street Stock and Front Wheel Drive specials. The regular 4-cylinder rear wheel drive Mini Stocks and Hobby Stock Classes are also included in many special event nights with all classes running for record purses.”
The next order of business for Outlaw Speedway will be the 2023 Awards Banquet which is just around the corner on Saturday, February 3, 2024, which will see all the top point finishers receive their hardware and point fund money.
