Story By: CHRIS MOORE / SHORT TRACK SUPER SERIES – PIPERSVILLE, PA – Ready for more. Danny Bouc ventures to All-Tech Raceway in Lake City, Fla., for the ‘Sunshine Swing’ presented by Capitol Custom Trailers & Coaches again in 2024.
This time though for Bouc, he will do so as a Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco winner for the first time in his career.
Bouc was victorious in the October ‘23 ‘Mid-Atlantic Championship’ at Del.’s Georgetown Speedway in dominant fashion, the first of his STSS career.
Now, the Pipersville, Pa., driver heads into ’24 determined and hungry for more Feb. 6-10 at the Wendell Durrance-promoted facility.
“My goal is to get a win in Florida this year,” he stated. “We have the engine package, we have good cars, and the notes from last year, we just didn’t draw well.”
Bouc is not joking about the draw hindering his performance in ’23. The Keystone State driver started eighth and ninth in his respective heat races last year.
With some luck on his side, Bouc thinks ’24 could be different.
“I like to be able to build on what I do from race to race,” he explained. “I felt like I ran well there originally and now we’re in a better place with our equipment that I think we can really go compete.
“Without the draw I think that will only help us.”
One factor that will always be on Bouc’s side for the trip to All-Tech is his affinity for the racetrack.
“I love it,” he proclaimed. “It’s one of my top three to five tracks that we go to.
“I don’t feel like I run great there yet, which is probably part of the reason I like it so much,” he reasoned. “I like to challenge myself.”
Bouc will enter ’24 with a Wegner Automotive ‘Weekend Warrior’ engine paired with a 430 to set his sights on the NJ Quality Drywall South Region title chase.
“I think we’re going to stick to a similar plan that we had last year,” he explained. “We’ll cut back on Saturday racing and put our focus on the STSS stuff and Georgetown.
“The Wegner motor allows me to do more traveling so any (River Valley Builders) North Region race I can go to that makes sense we will be at.
“I had a lot of fun at the Fonda (N.Y.) 200 last year and Utica-Rome (N.Y.) was great. As long as I still have the support we need when the time comes, we’ll be there.”
