Story By: LUCAS OIL LATE MODEL DIRT SERIES – TAMPA, FL – The Monday night portion of the 48th Annual Wieland Winternationals – Presented by Lucas Oil at East Bay Raceway Park has been postponed.
Monday’s $5,000 to win program for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will be made up in segments at the conclusion of each regularly scheduled program over the course of the next three nights at East Bay Raceway Park.
At the conclusion of Tuesday night’s program, Time Trials for Monday night’s program will be contested. On Wednesday, Heat Races and B-Mains for Monday will be contested at the conclusion of Wednesday night’s regularly scheduled program. Finally, on Thursday the 25-lap A-Main from Monday night will take place following Thursday night’s program.
The End of an Era: Final East Bay Winternationals on Deck
The East Bay Raceway Park Winternationals have been a staple on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series schedule since the tour inception in 2005. This year, that long standing tradition is slated to come to an end.
The Mosaic Co., a Fortune 500 company that mines potash and phosphate that it processes into crop nutrients, is poised to complete its purchase of the property following the 2024 season.
A full program is scheduled for each of the remaining five nights, which includes: Dirt Draft Hot Laps, Allstar Performance Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series main event.
Tuesday, February 7th, teams will compete for a $5,000 top prize. Wednesday, February 8 will see drivers gunning for $7,000 in top prize money.
On Thursday, February 9 the winner’s prize increases to $10,000 before the stakes get even higher on Friday, February 10, with teams competing for a $12,000 paycheck.
The week will end on Saturday, February 11, boasting a $15,000 top prize.
Each day, the pit gate will open at 2:00PM followed by general admission gates at 5:00PM. The on-track action is scheduled to begin with Hot Laps at 5:30PM. All times are eastern time.
