Story By: RON SCZCERBA / FONDA SPEEDWAY – FONDA, NY – While some drivers are getting ready to compete at the big $50,000 to win Speed Showcase event at the Port Royal Speedway this coming weekend, others are preparing their racecars for the Annual Fonda Speedway Car Show which takes place next Friday through Sunday March 22-24 at the Viaport Rotterdam located at 93 West Campbell Road Schenectady, NY 12306.
The show takes place during mall hours, Friday and Saturday 11-7 and Sunday 11-5.
Limited space is still available at the show according to the Fonda Speedway Facebook page. Please e-mail Jamie Page at jpage15@stny.rr.com to register your car for one of those spaces. Move-in takes place Thursday, March 21 and cars leave the mall at the close of business on Sunday, March 24.
The car show is a great way for your race team to show off their equipment for the 2024 racing season whether it be a totally new race car, a new paint scheme, or new sponsors who have come on board to support your racing endeavors. And you just never know when a local businessman or a person just walking by will notice your race car and you may gain a new sponsor out of it. It is also great for the fans to get a look at the cars before they take to the speedway for the 2024 racing season for an open practice session on Saturday, April 13 followed by the $12,000 to win Jumpin’ Jack Johnson Memorial opening day event on Saturday, April 20!
BD Motorsports Media LLC who promotes the “Track of Champions” Fonda Speedway, will have tables set up with schedules, apparel, and all the information that drivers and fans may need as the 2024 racing season is set to begin. Season passes for the grandstand and pit area will also be available along with memberships for the American Racer Cup and licenses for the track itself. Brett Deyo and his team at BD Motorsports Media LLC would like to thank you in advance for your support of the car show and the Fonda Speedway.
Once again, the Mohawk Valley Vintage Dirt Modified Series will be a part of the Fonda Speedway Car Show. Always a popular attraction at the three day show is MVVDMS “Vintage Alley.” In 2024, you can take a stroll down memory lane where fans will take a step back in time with fourteen beautiful cars of the past that represents the many eras of our racing’s past.
MVVDMS will have a booth set up with information on the series and the 2024 racing schedule. There will be (NYSSCA) New York State Stock Car Association and (NESCOT) Membership forms also available.
