Story By: BEN SHELTON / COMP CAMS SUPER DIRT SERIES – COLCORD, OK – Two-time COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) Super Late Model champion, Logan Martin topped Friday night’s event at Arrowhead Speedway (Colcord, Okla.) to collect the $5,000 winner’s check.
The eighth-starting Martin overtook race-long leader, Tony Jackson Jr on the 21st circuit and went on to win his 12th-career series event.
“(I was trying to) make those guys make mistakes,” Martin said in Victory Lane. “I was able to poke my nose in there, show my nose and get them guys thinking. They made a couple mistakes, and I threw a couple good sliders and was able to set sail on that cushion. (The) track was right tonight. I was able to come from eighth to win … in Super Late Model racing, that’s pretty good.”
From the outside-front-row starting spot Jackson Jr. set the pace for the first 20 circuits but was unable to hold the rallying Martin back. He went on to finish in the second position, 2.056 seconds behind the victor.
Seventh-starting Morgan Bagley rallied as high as the second position before crossing the finish line in third with 10th-starting Kyle Beard and B.J. Robinson rounding out the Top-5 finishers.
The MD3 Bodies Hard Charger was Kip Hughes who advanced from 21st to 12th in the feature.
