Outlaw Speedway To Open 2024 Racing Campaign With Lucas Oil Nationals April 5th & 6th

Story By: KENNY SHUPP / OUTLAW SPEEDWAY – DUNDEE, NY – As he has done since taking ownership of the Outlaw Speedway nine years ago, Tyler Siri has opened each race season, except for Covid with the running of the Lucas Oil Nationals in early April.
“I always like to try and open for racing as soon as possible each season,” stated Siri. “Historically we have had some nice weekends in early April over the years and with no-other tracks open yet in this region it gives racers and fans a place to go.”
This year’s Lucas Oil Nationals will keep tradition with practice and front row qualifying for all classes on Friday, April 5. Then on Saturday, April 6th qualifying heat and consolation events plus features will be run off for all participating divisions.
The Friendly Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Modifieds will headline the six card show as the Mighty Mods will race for a winner’s check of $4,000. Also seeing action will be the Sunrise Insulation/Knapp and Schlappi Lumber 602 Crate Sportsman where the first car across the line in their feature event will walk away with $2,000.
Swarthout Recycling Street Stocks race for a nifty $1750 to take home the win as the Addison and Dunning NAPA Parts Stores Hobby Stock Division along with the Winner’s Circle Deli Mini Stocks will compete for $1,000 to win each feature go.
The 604 Crate Late Models will make their first of two appearances of the season at Outlaw with the winner’s share of $2,500 going to the victory.
Not a bad way to start off the 2024 campaign!
The RUSH Crate Late Model Touring Series will then return on May 24, 2024, for the Annual Gary Montgomery Memorial paying the winner $3,000.
“This is an extremely good mixture of both open wheel and full fender classes. A little bit of everything for the fans to enjoy. Should be a fantastic way to kick off my ninth season here at Outlaw.” That once again according to track owner/promoter, Tyler Siri.
Gate times for pit entry on both nights are at 5:00 pm with the main grandstand seating area opening at 5:30 pm.
Hot laps will begin at approximately 7:00 with the first green rag of the night waving at 7:30 pm.
The 2nd Annual Cal Lane Memorial will then follow the next weekend on April 12 and 13 with a similar format of practice and front row qualifying on Friday with a full show to follow on Saturday.
