The Ridge Ready To Roll In ’24; Glen Ridge Motorsports Park Releases Season Schedule
Story By: TOBY LAGRANGE / GLEN RIDGE MOTORSPORTS PARK – FULTONVILLE, NY – The Glen Ridge Motorsports Park released their 2024 schedule of events on Thursday for what will sure to be another record-breaking season.
In all 20 events dot the 21st Anniversary calendar which includes a practice session on Sunday April 28th.
The weekly DIRTcar Sunday Nights program will once again include all of the weekly divisions and will be highlighted by the DIRTcar 358 Modified division. Past champions in the division include Mike Ketchum (2005), Randy Hotaling (2006) and Jordan McCreadie (2023).
New for 2024 will be the addition of the RUSH Late Model division, who will also be on the weekly card. The division will also be competing for the SRI Performance/Stock Car Steel & Aluminum Pole Award each week.
The 21st season of stock car racing will kick off on May 5th and will be followed by the annual Mother’s Day program one week later. Both events will serve as a tune-up for the DIRTcar Sportsman East Region Series event which is scheduled for Sunday May 19th. The month will end with the Memorial Day Extravaganza and a Meet and Greet.
A fan favorite, the DIRTcar 358 Modified Series will make its second appearance at The Ridge on Sunday June 2nd with the DIRTcar Pro Stock Series making its first of two stops during the 2024 season one week later. Three DIRTcar Sunday Nights programs will complete the month of June, with the June 30th event including a Driver Hero Poster Contest.
The month of July is a big one at The Ridge. On July 7th the Robert “Fluff” Hagen Memorial event returns for the Yurkewecz Auto Crushers DIRTcar Pro Stock division. The month ends with two more big events – the 3rd Annual Hillman Memorial DIRTcar Mini Stock event on July 21st and the annual GRMP Hall of Fame inductions and traditional GRMP Hall of Fame Classic event for the Classic Muscle Parts DIRTcar Sportsman division on July 28th.
On August 4th the New York State Stock Car Association will be on hand for their annual evening. They will also be inducting NYSSCA Hall of Fame members from The Ridge that night. The DIRTcar Sportsman Championship Trail will kick off on Sunday August 11th at The Ridge and two weeks later on Sunday August 25th, the DIRTcar Pro Stock Series makes its return to the Fastest Quarter Mile on DIRT.
A pair of Championship Nights will conclude the 2024 racing season at The Ridge. On September 1st the DIRTcar 358 Modified, Classic Muscle Parts DIRTcar Sportsman and Yurkewecz Auto Crushers DIRTcar Pro Stock divisions will crown their champions with the remaining division crowning their champions during the season finale on September 8th.
