Story By: JEFF GROMIS / APPALACHIAN LATE MODEL SPEEDWEEK – KING GEORGE, VA – Tyler Emory of King George, Virginia, the 2023 Selinsgrove Ford Appalachian Late Model Speedweek Champion, is anxiously looking forward to the 2024 series. He returns with the Cameron and Mann Motorsports team for his third season in the Super Late Models.
Emory had a break-out 2023 season taking five feature wins, including two Appalachian Late Model Speedweek victories on his way to the Appalachian crown while also capturing the United Late Model Series championship. He will again pilot the Cameron Construction / Coombs Bus and Truck Service / E-Labs / Total Machine LLC / PSI Pax Rocket chassis 72 cars this season.
Despite a limited racing schedule for late models in the northeast thus far in 2024 due to uncooperative weather, Tyler has already recorded a $4000 feature win in ULMS action at Williams Grove in March.
The Appalachian Mountain LM Speedweek will kick-off 2014 at Clinton County Speedway on Friday, June 7. Things will move to the south for the remainder of the weekend, first, to Port Royal Speedway, on Saturday night, June 8, and then to Hagerstown (MD) Speedway on Sunday, June 9.
The series takes Monday off, before moving to Path Valley Speedway Park on Tuesday, June 11. Wednesday is the final Speedweek day off and could serve as a raindate for the events on the first half of Speedweek.
Racing is slated to get back underway on Thursday, June 13, at Selinsgrove Speedway followed by the Bedford Fairgrounds Speedway on Friday night, June 14. Moving east, the tour comes down the homestretch with a Saturday night stop at Lincoln Speedway on June 15, and then the AMS finale a day later, on Sunday, at BAPS Speedway in York Haven, PA.
Driver registration is $50 per event at the track on each race night. But now through May 10, drivers can register for the entire 8-race series for $300. This discounted, full-series registration can be done totally through MyRacePass’s Appalachian Mountain Speedweek page or by completing the entry form on the Appalachian Mountain Speedweek website and mailing a check to the address indicated.
The first three drivers to take advantage of the full series entry fee discount early in April are Tyler Emory, Bryan Bernheisel of Jonestown and car owner Donna Bernheisel and Jared Miley of Pittsburgh, PA, and car owner John Deller.
