Story By: JEFFREY AHLUM / GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY – BECHTELSVILLE, PA – Double the action this Saturday! Following an abrupt ending to last Saturday night’s NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series racing program at Grandview Speedway when rain arrived just as the T.P. Trailer Modified feature was on the track, race fans will enjoy double the action this coming Saturday, May 18 with the presentation of TWO – T.P. Trailer 30-lap Modified feature races this weekend.
The race program this Saturday will be the traditional double header for the T.P. Trailer NASCAR Modifieds and T.P. Truck Equipment NASCAR Sportsman, including all qualifying events for both divisions leading into a 30-lap Modified main event and a 25-lap Sportsman feature race plus the 30-lap T.P. Trailer Modified feature held-over from May 11 will be added to the show.
The held-over T.P. Trailer Modified feature will be the first Modified event during the program, so fans need to arrive early so as not to miss any of the double-feature race action.
All of this exciting action will be conducted for the regular admission prices, with adult grandstand admission at $20, students 10-15 with ID are $10, while children ages 9 and under are admitted free of charge. Pit admission is $35 for NASCAR members and $45 for non-members.
Pit gates will open at 3:30 pm, with grandstand gates opening at 4:30 pm, warm-ups starting at 5:30 pm, and the first race of the evening getting the green flag at 6:30 pm.
The Saturday, May 18 program will also see the second of the monthly fan participation Trivia nights, where questions about Grandview Speedway racing will be asked, and fans will be able to win some cool prizes, race tickets for future programs, or gift cards.
This Saturday night prior to the racing program will be the Low Down and Dirty meet and greet hosted once again by Whippy and Jennifer Umbenhauer. The drivers scheduled to participate include Modified driver and defending Champion Brett Kressley, along with Sportsman driver Gavyn Krupp.
The pre-race Meet and Greet is held in the main gate area from 4-5 pm and is a great time for fans to meet the drivers up close, collect some autographs, take photos, and talk racing with their favorite drivers before the night’s program gets underway.
The T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman feature which was also rained out last Saturday will be added to the Saturday, May 25 race event in addition to a completely new two-division program of T.P. Trailer Modifieds and T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman, plus the Outlaw Racing Series Vintage cars.
The final race for the month of May is the first Thunder on the Hill Racing Series program of the year as Levan Machine & Truck Equipment presents the RichMar Florist Midweek Money Series Kubota High Limit Racing 410 Sprint Cars on Tuesday, May 28 starting at 7:30 pm with a rain date of Wednesday, May 29.
The program will feature the PA Posse drivers vs. Kyle Larson and The High Rollers participating in time trials and qualifying races leading into the 35-lap $20,000 to win feature race.
To date the top drivers in the Midweek Money Series point standings are Corey Day, Tyler Courtney, Brent Marks, Brad Sweet, Tanner Thorson, Spencer Bayston, James McFadden, Parker Price Miller, Justin Peck, and Kasey Kahne who will be the drivers leading the charge into Grandview Speedway in pursuit of the $20,000 winner’s paycheck.
Adult grandstand tickets are $40, children 6-11 are $20, while kids 5 and under are free. Pit admission is $45, and no license is required. Advanced grandstand tickets for this event are available at www.tickethoss.com.
Vintage Modified and Sportsman cars will also join the racing program participating in a 15-lap feature event only.
