Story By: BRETT DEYO / BROOKFIELD SPEEDWAY – BROOKFIELD, NY – After a successful Season Opener on Memorial Day weekend, historic Brookfield Speedway returns to action Thursday, June 13.
The rejuvenated bullring – which drew praise for its track conditions during the ‘Fast Cars & Freedom’ event – brings stock car racing back to the Madison County Fairgrounds with a program headlined by Scenic View Campground Crate 602 Sportsman racing 25 laps for a $700-plus top prize.
Returning divisions to Brookfield include the White’s Welding Pro/Street Stocks, Abrams Press Allstar and Junior Slingshots and Anderson Towing & Recovery Four Cylinders.
For the first time ever, 600 Modifieds will take to the Brookfield layout with both American Racer and Hoosier tires permitted. The event will pay $300 to the winner.
All divisions will draw for heat-race starting positions.
Gates open at 4 p.m., with hot laps at 6 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m.
Grandstand admission is $15. Kids 8 and under are FREE.
Pit admission is $40. Kids (ages 6-12) pay $10 and Children 5 and under pay $2.
Opening Night Brookfield winners included Michael Ballestero (Short Track Super Series-sanctioned Crate 602 Sportsman), Gene Sharpsteen (Pro/Street Stock), Jaden Pierce (Allstar Slingshot), Addisyn Roger (Junior Slingshot), Jeff Weeks (Four Cylinder Dual Cam) and Hayleigh Gates (Four Cylinder Single Cam).
