Column By: NICK GRAZIANO / WORLD OF OUTLAWS – MECHANICSBURG, PA – Sprint Car racing action heats up at Williams Grove Speedway in July for the two-day World of Outlaws C&D Rigging Summer Nationals, which will also crown this year’s Morgan Cup champion.

The doubleheader, Friday-Saturday, July 26-27, will be the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series’ first stop at the historic 1/2-mile dirt track this year after weather hindered its spring appearance.

Friday night will serve as the make-up night for the Morgan Cup, meaning the night’s winner will be crowned this year’s Morgan Cup champion and receive a $17,000 check.

Then, drivers will battle for a $20,000 payday on Saturday.

Both nights will continue the famed World of Outlaws v.s. PA Posse rivalry. World of Outlaws star Logan Schuchart, of Hanover, PA, scored the Morgan Cup last year, which was also his first Series win at Williams Grove Speedway.

Pennsylvania’s Brent Marks is the last driver to win a World of Outlaws race at the dirt track, picking up his second National Open victory last year. He’s the only PA Posse member to have won a World of Outlaws race at Williams Grove last year as three of the five events were won by Outlaw drivers.

Of active World of Outlaws drivers, 10-time Series champion Donny Schatz holds the most Series wins at the track with 21. He’ll be looking for his first win there since 2020.

Freddie Rahmer and Troy Wagaman Jr. currently sit in positions one and two, respectively, in the weekly racing standings at Williams Grove Speedway – more than 100 points ahead of Lucas Wolfe in third.
