Danny Creeden Wins Modified Feature Friday Night At Penn Can Speedway

Story By: NATHAN ALDRICH / PENN CAN SPEEDWAY – SUSQUEHANNA, PA – Danny Creeden capitalized on Mid Season Championship night, picking up 7 points on second place running Kevin Hartnett in the season-long points battle.
The pair entered the night tied for the points lead, in a thrilling season where every spot could make the difference.
Tyler Yeagle and Bobby Puckett charged toward the green flag with Puckett leading the way down the backstretch. Creeden worked from his eighth place starting spot to crack the top 5 completing the opening lap in fourth. A quick caution brought Darwin Greene inside of Puckett for the restart, with Creeden fourth and Hartnett running eleventh. Puckett maintained the lead down the back stretch with Creeden taking over third from Marshall Hurd.
Puckett and Greene ran side by side, down the frontstretch with Greene sliding up to take the lead out of turn 2, 6 laps complete. Creeden would take the second spot from Puckett the next lap. With a spin in turn 2 slowing the field, Greene put Creeden to the outside for the restart. Creeden powered his way off of turn 2 to take the lead down the backstretch but it would be all for naught as the yellow came out before the lap was completed. Greene once again elected for the inside on the following restart and Creeden again led the way down the backstretch.
Hartnett began his march to the front after the halfway point, running blistering lap times as he tried to chase down Creeden. With the sand running out of the hourglass Hartnett battled Brett Tonkin and Hurd, taking the second spot with only one lap to go. Hartnett closed the gap to one car length in the final turn as Creeden dashed to the checkered flags. Hurd, Brian Puckett and Nick Mady would round out the top 5. Feature winner Danny Creeden would like to thank his sponsors Mr. Leak, Stafursky Paving, Innovative Capital Corp, Skeleton Napa, Bedell Race Engines and his entire crew.
