Dunn Beats Mod Field & Mother Nature For Win At Fulton Saturday; Then, Rain Cancels Remainder Of Night

Story By: HANNAH DOLL / FULTON SPEEDWAY – FULTON, NY – Billy Dunn took home his first Fulton Speedway Tracey Road DIRTcar Modified feature of 2024 and John Pietrowicz claimed the Hobby Stock main before heavy rain and wind slammed the speedway forcing the postponement of the remainder of the Saturday, June 22 racing program.
The June 8 Tracey Road Modified holdover feature, and June 22 Features for Dot Foods DIRTcar Sportsman Feature, RL Cleaning 4-Cylinder Open and E & V Energy Novice Sportsman features will be rescheduled with dates to be announced.
Connor Sellars and Rich Keller led the 26-car Tracey Road Modified field to the Comfort Windows Firing Zone, with Sellars quickly taking the lead before a pair of lap Milton CAT Cautions slowed the field on laps 1 and 2. Those would prove to be the only stoppages in the 35-lap main as the field would race clean and green the rest of the way.
Sellars, from Owego, would cruise out front for the next 15 laps but would soon face the onslaught of the 16th starting Dunn. On lap 17, Dunn would use the bottom to get around Sellars on the backstretch to take over the lead, with David Marcuccilli and Tim Sears Jr. following Dunn’s run to take over second and third.
Dunn would go on to lead the last 18 laps and win by a large gap over Marcuccilli. Last week’s feature winner, Tim Sears Jr., would claim the last podium position, with Sellars posting his best career Fulton Speedway finish in 4th. Chris Mackey rounding out the top 5 after starting 14th.
Current Billy Whittaker Cars & Trux Hobby Stock points leader John Pietrowicz continued his winning ways, dominating the 15-lap feature event. Jordan’s Ron Hawker would post his best finish of the season in second, with Brandon Barron claiming third. Adam Hunt came home in fourth, with Edward Stevens claiming the fifth spot.
Keep an eye out as the makeup dates for the DOT Foods Sportsman, E & V Energy Novice Sportsman, and RL Cleaning Four-Cylinder features will be released this week.
