Modified & Sportsman Double Saturday Evening At Grandview; USAC National Sprints June 11th

Story By: JEFFREY AHLUM / GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY – BECHTELSVILLE, PA – Fasten your seatbelts for some more thrilling stock car racing action this Saturday night at Grandview Speedway!

This Saturday, June 8 will see A.D. Moyer Lumber Company as the presenting race night sponsor for the racing program featuring the T.P. Trailer NASCAR Modifieds and T.P. Truck Equipment NASCAR Sportsman, which includes qualifying events for both divisions leading into a 30-lap Modified main event and a 25-lap Sportsman feature race.

Saturday night’s program which is part of the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series will see pit gates open at 4 pm, with grandstand gates opening at 5:30 pm, warm-ups starting at 6:15 pm, and the first race of the evening getting the green flag at 7:30 pm.

Adult grandstand admission is $20, students 10-15 with ID are $10, while children ages 9 and under are admitted free of charge. Pit admission is $35 for NASCAR members and $45 for non-members.

This Saturday night prior to the racing program will be the Low Down and Dirty meet and greet hosted once again by Whippy and Jennifer Umbenhauer. The drivers scheduled to participate include Modified driver Bryan Rhoads, along with Sportsman driver Nicholas Hamm.

The pre-race Meet and Greet is held in the main gate area from 5-6 pm and is a great time for fans to meet the drivers up close, collect some autographs, take photos, and talk racing with their favorite drivers before the night’s program gets underway.

The racing this weekend will begin on Friday, June 7, featuring the Outlaw Racing Series Enduro and Outlaw Racing Series Vintage Cars in action along with the Xcel 600 Modifieds starting at 7 pm. Pit gates open at 2 pm, with grandstand gates opening at 5 pm. Grandstand admission will be $10, with children ages 12 and under admitted for free. Pit admission is $30 for the Friday event.

The second Thunder on the Hill Racing Series event is next Tuesday, June 11 featuring the 17th annual Jesse Hockett Classic Eastern Storm for the USAC National Championship non-wing Sprint Cars.

The ever popular USAC National Sprint series will be joined by the 358 Modifieds for a fantastic two-division program starting at 7:30 pm.

Last Saturday night Louden Reimert became the first driver to repeat as a feature winner scoring the win in the T.P. Trailer Modified feature event, joining Mike Mahaney, Brett Kressley and John Willman as winners so far this season.

Other top drivers to be in action this week include top point drivers like point leader Jeff Strunk, Mike Gular, Duane Howard, Craig Von Dohren, Jared Umbenhauer, Eddie Strada, Tim Buckwalter, Ryan Watt, Doug Manmiller, Kevin Hirthler and about three dozen drivers who will all be looking to reach victory lane for the first time in 2024.

The T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman ran double features last week with Kenny Bock joining the winner’s list along with Gavyn Krupp and Colton Perry as one time winners, while Logan Watt was also a winner and picked up win number two on the season.

More top drivers expected to be in action this Saturday include Adrianna Delliponti, Dylan Swinehart, Ryan Graver, Addison Meitzler, Brett Gilmore, Decker Swinehart, Jesse Hirthler, Nathan Mohr, Mike Schneck Jr. and about three dozen drivers also looking to reach victory lane for the first time this year.

Another popular event from last season is also inching closer on the schedule on Saturday, July 6, when Grandview presents Back to the 90’s Night and just $10 grandstand admission!
