Column By: ROBERT SYMONDS / RPW – ROSSBURG, OH – Eldora Speedway is not the easiest track to race at. Drivers explain the speedway as a tough to tame. This track hosts some of the highest paying races in dirt racing and attracts the biggest names, it can either be a friend or a foe. Thursday evening ended up proving that the 30th Dirt Late Model Dream was going to be a very tough hill to climb for the Camden Ohio driver Kody Evans.

Coming out of qualifying Evans started 10th in heat race 1. Off the start, Evans started gaining ground until he was involved in a 3 car tangle with Pierce McCarter and Tyler Carpenter. Evans pulled into the pit area with heavy right front damage however the damage extended from beyond the car. As the incident played out, Kody ended up getting his lower left arm stuck in the wheel and when the car kept moving, the wheel kept turning. This resulted in Evans having a slight issue with his previously twice broken left wrist which sidelined the driver of the Performance Transport, Hensley Logistics 4G for the rest of the Thursday Prelim event.

Checking in with Kody Evans Friday morning, he is in good spirits and ready to go back at it on Saturday. His wrist is bruised but Evans should be good to go when it comes to Saturdays event for the Dirt Late Model Dream. Evans mentioned that Rocket Chassis had taken a look after the hard hit Thursday and there is no damage to the car other than right side body/cosmetic damage. Evans will have a hole to dig out of as he is currently 48th in points following Thursdays program.
