Power Seal To Honor Dale Planck With $77 Increases To Every Spot For Sportsman Challenge At Fulton

Story By: HANNAH DOLL / FULTON SPEEDWAY – BALDWINSVILLE, NY – In honor of the late Dale Planck, Power Seal Driveaway Sealing owner, Tom Juno, has added even more cash to the August 17 PowerSeal/Tarvia Seal/Bridgeland Auto Brokers/DnD Line Striping/RVMD Service, Repair and Parts Sportsman Challenge.
Already boasting a total purse of $4000 for just 12 cars, Juno has added $77 more dollars to each position increasing the total purse by $924. First place for the lucrative event will now pay the winner $1277.
In total, twelve drivers will be invited to participate. Eight starters will come from combined Brewerton and Fulton Dot Foods Sportsman points as of the date of the event. Current top 20 in combined points:

New for 2024, the top two in Sportsman points as of August 17 from neighboring Can-Am Speedway and Land of Legends Raceway will also be invited.
Currently, Tyler Corcoran (278) and Zach Sobotka (264) hold down the top 2 spots at Land of Legends with Nicholas Root (263), Matt Guerreri (259) and Frank Guerreri Jr. (238) 3rd-5th.
At Can-Am, Mike Fowler (404) holds down the top spot ahead of Corcoran (393), Gavin Eisele (386), Brennan Moore (386) and Eric Nier (380).
The PowerSeal/Tarvia Seal/Bridgeland Auto Brokers/DnD Line Striping/RVMD Service, Repair and Parts Sportsman Challenge is part of what has become a night of Sportsman madness at the track.
On top of the regularly scheduled Dot Foods DIRTcar Sportsman feature and the Sportsman Challenge, the $750-to-win Outlaw Weekend Sportsman Qualifier that was rained out on June 19 with be completed that night as well.
Power Seal/Tarvia Seal/DnD Line Striping/Bridgeland Auto Brokers/RVMD Service, Repair and Parts Sportsman Challenge Format:
A “revenge draw” format will set the line-up with each driver drawing then giving their number to one of the other eleven competitors, even if it’s number one.
Once the line-up is determined, the field will race as one for the first six laps of the event. Adopting a pursuit race format, the last place car at the completion of lap seven and each lap after that will be sent off the track by the race director.
When just two cars remain on the track, a caution will be thrown, with the leader at the time choosing a pill to determine which lane they start in for a final two-lap dash for the checkered and lucrative $1277 first place prize.
