Super DIRTcar Series To Honor Dale Planck With ‘The Natural 77’ Tuesday At Thunder Mountain

Story By: MIKE WARREN / SUPER DIRTCAR SERIES – CENTER LISLE, NY – The Super DIRTcar Series’ debut at Thunder Mountain Speedway on Tuesday, July 9, will now be The Natural 77 Honoring Dale Planck.

To honor the memory of Dale Planck – who ran the number 77 – the night’s Feature will be 77 laps and pay $7,700 to win.

Bonus money is also on the line, as Heat Race winners receive $77, and the driver’s who finish seventh and 17th get $100.

Planck, known as “The Natural,” raced five full seasons with the Super DIRTcar Series, from 2006-2010, earning eight victories. The Cortland, NY, driver was also a two-time DIRTcar 358 Modified Series champion.

Once he retired, he and his son Brandon operated DIG Race Products, a business that helps drivers with shock and setup support – and is also a valued partner with the Super DIRTcar Series.

Joining the Super DIRTcar Series on the Natural 77 Honoring Dale Planck card are DIRTcar Sportsman.
