Information By: DEVIL’S BOWL SPEEDWAY – WEST HAVEN, VT – Cedric Gauvreau’s win in Sunday night’s CJ Richards Memorial at Devil’s Bowl Speedway has been taken away.
The 602 crate engine out of Gauvreau’s Sportsman Modified was pulled on Sunday night at the speedway.
On Monday morning, a representative from the speedway took the DIRTcar Black sealed crate engine to a Devil’s Bowl Speedway & DIRTcar approved engine shop, Hunts Machine, for inspection.
Gauvreau and a team member were also present during the inspection process.
The engine was found to be illegal with multiple infractions. The black DIRTcar seals were removed during the inspection and kept in the possession of Hunts Machine.
Zach Sobotka is now the official winner of the CJ Richards Memorial Race and gets the guaranteed spot in the Vermont 200 as well as the $5,000 top prize. Vince Quenneville is moved to second and Tim Laduc is now third.
All other positions will be adjusted to reflect the disqualification.
