Story By: RYAN DELPH / RAY COOK RACING – BRASSTOWN, NC – Ray Cook Racing made a last minute trip to Screven Motor Speedway on Saturday, February 4 for the annual running of the ‘Winter Freeze.’
The Southern All Star Series (SAS) tour presided over the $10,000 to win special event, which drew a 22 car Super Late Model field.
Ray Cook clicked off the third quickest time in Group A during the qualifying session before securing an impressive victory in heat race action. After starting the 50-lap feature from the pole position, Ray led laps 11-25 of the contest before slipping back to seventh in the final finishing order.
The #53 team will not sit idle long, as they plan to unload a 604 Crate Late Model this Saturday, February 11 at Moulton Speedway in Moulton, Alabama. The 3rd Annual ‘Winter Breeze Classic’ will be a single day affair and will boast a $3,000 payday.
