Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / BROCK ZEARFOSS RACING – JONESTOWN, PA – Brock Zearfoss and Brock Zearfoss Racing certainly perfected the art of passing in their recent visits to Volusia Speedway Park, and although the Pennsylvania-based program was held to just one top-ten finish in the two-day/three-feature Spring Showdown, their efforts were impressive, all of which headlined with a hard-charging performance in the DIRTcar Nationals make-up feature contested Sunday, March 5.
Zearfoss, a former Port Royal Speedway track champion who is competing with the World of Outlaws for a third straight year, battled ahead from 18th to tenth to claim his Hard Charger Award, actually igniting the evening with a near as impressive six spot jump in the Spring Showdown opener; Zearfoss rallied from 19th to 13th.
The “Jonestown Jet” would eventually close out his two-day venture at Volusia with another head turning display, this time persevering after starting 20th on the grid; he finished 14th.
“We passed a lot of race cars this weekend. It’s a great feeling to know that we can persevere even if we’re stuck with tough starting positions,” Zearfoss, driver of the Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill, Heavy Equipment, Loaders & Parts Inc., C&D Rigging Inc., Klick Lewis Cars, J.P. Adamsky Trucking, Milton Hershey School, A. Lane Living, No. 3Z sprint car, said. “Hats off to this team. They work hard and never give up and I’m proud of their efforts. We’ll have some home dirt advantage the next few weekends. I think we’re all ready to race close to home in front of our family, friends, and partners.”
Brock Zearfoss and Brock Zearfoss Racing will continue their 2023 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with a visit to Pennsylvania Posse Country, rejoining the Greatest Show On Dirt in a Port Royal Speedway doubleheader on Friday and Saturday, March 10-11.
