Empire Super Sprints To Invade Utica-Rome Speedway Friday Night

Story By: BRETT DEYO / UTICA-ROME SPEEDWAY – VERNON, NY – The speed and excitement of winged 360 Sprint Car racing returns to Utica-Rome Speedway this Friday, Aug. 4.

Empire Super Sprint (ESS) 360 Sprint Cars take on the half-mile Home of Heroes this Friday night, setting up a double headliner program with the 3 Bastards Brewing Modifieds.

International Wire presents the evening’s program.

Quebec’s Jordan Poirier holds a scant three-point edge over Shawn Donath in the ESS standings entering Friday’s program. Jason Barney, Dylan Swiernik and Jeff Cook complete the front five.

ESS has visited Utica-Rome twice this season with Paulie Colagiovanni (May 12) and Danny Varin (June 29) picking up victories.

The ESS contingent tows an hour east on the New York State Thruway to compete at N.Y.’s Fonda Speedway on Saturday (Aug. 5).

A complete NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series program joins the ESS contingent with points-paying races for the 3 Bastards Brewing Modifieds, Worthington Industries Crate 602 Sportsman, Next Generation GraphiX Pro Stocks, Fastline Performance Limited Sportsman and Fonda Fair Four Cylinders.

Gates open at 5 p.m., with hot laps at 6:45 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p.m.

Grandstand admission is $22 (Adults), $20 (Seniors ages 65 and up) and Kids 11 and under are FREE.

Pit admission is $40 (ages 13 and up), $35 (NASCAR or Utica-Rome Member), $10

Kids (ages 6-12) and $5 Children ages 5 and under.
