Modifieds, Super Late Models Set For Thursday ‘Summer Thunder’ Twin 25s At Georgetown

On Thursday, August 3, Georgetown Speedway ends a long weather-related hiatus with Twin 25s for Millman’s NAPA Auto Parts Modifieds and Stockley Speed & Supply Super Late Models. The double-headlined ‘Summer Thunder’ program presented by Sullivan’s Landscaping & Maintenance features a pair of 25-lap main events paying $3,500 each to win.
Modifieds continue their NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series championship battle with an increased $3,500 on the line. A draw/redraw format and Short Track Super Series South Region rules will be in effect for the big-block/small-block Modified contingent.
Jordan Watson of Milford, Del., won the most recent Modified event in early June.
Stockley Speed & Supply Super Late Models return to the renovated venue with $3,500 on the line for their 25-lap event. Georgetown’s Ross Robinson won the most recent Super Late Model event in April.
Super Late Models will compete under the following rules package:
- Minimum weight: 2,350 lbs., with driver, post-race
- Tire Rule: Hoosier NLMT2 or harder or American Racer 44 or harder
- Time trial within heat-race groups in hot laps; top-six redraw for the feature
- AMB Transponders (rentals available)
- One-way radio: 454.000
- Double-file heat-race restarts; double-file feature restarts through five laps remaining
Completing the ‘Summer Thunder’ program are the Blue Hen Dispose-All Crate 602 Sportsman ($1,000 to win), Southern Delaware Vintage Stock Cars, Delaware Super Trucks and Delmarva Chargers.
Pit gates open at 4 p.m., grandstands at 5 p.m., with hot laps at 6:30 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p.m.
Grandstand admission is $25 for Adults, $20 for Seniors (ages 65 and up) and Students (ages 13-17), $10 for Kids (ages 9-12) and Children 8 and under are FREE.
Pit admission is $40 (ages 13 and up), $35 (NASCAR Members), $10 Kids (ages 6-12) and $2 Children ages 5 and under.
